Job summary

Thatch is seeking an IT Ops/Systems Engineer to own identity and access infrastructure in a Mac-first environment. You will manage Okta, SSO, PAM, and device compliance while automating processes to scale security. The role includes lifecycle management from onboarding through offboarding and vendor onboarding for SSO/IdP tools.

You will collaborate with the Head of IT and Security to strengthen security posture and drive company-wide initiatives, ensuring compliant and efficient operations.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of hands-on IT support or systems engineering in a corporate environment.
• Certification in Network+, Security+, JAMF, Bettercloud, Okta, or comparable credentials.
• Deep understanding of SSO, 2FA, passkeys, conditional access, and password management systems.
• Experience administering or implementing a PAM tool or equivalent concepts.
• Strong knowledge of security principles and scalability best practices.
• Excellent follow-through and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Own technology stack including Okta, Iru, Mac, iOS, Android, Rippling MDM/SSO, 1Password, Google Workspace, Office, Slack, Zoom, Linear, and Notion.
• Drive endpoint fleet compliance to 100% coverage across MDM, EDR, and DLP and remediate when needed.
• Administer conditional access policies and manage exceptions when access is blocked.
• Own PAM workflow, automating quarterly access reviews with time-bound removal.
• Run trusted device and MFA enrollment and lead password remediation campaigns.
• Manage employee lifecycle access from onboarding to offboarding and audit-ready docs.
• Vet and onboard new SaaS tooling for SSO/IdP compliance and mitigate shadow IT.
• Build a knowledge base to empower employees and automate repetitive tasks.
• Partner with Head of IT and Security on company-wide security initiatives.
