Job summary

M.C. Dean is seeking a System Engineer 3 in the Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business unit to design, implement, operate, and maintain cyber-physical infrastructure with DoD-level security requirements.

A Secret clearance is required and the role focuses on secure, resilient hardware and virtualized environments. Responsibilities include gathering requirements, deploying secure systems, and implementing updates and configurations across Windows servers, AD, MECM, and related services,

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizen with adjudicated U.S. Secret Clearance.
• Bachelor’s Degree in CS/EE/IT or related field with 5+ years of progressive experience.
• Experience designing, deploying, and securing virtual infrastructure and enterprise applications.

Responsibilities

• Gather requirements from stakeholders and architect solutions for large, secure infrastructures.
• Perform security updates and hardening per DISA STIG/SRG guidance.
• Develop and document designs, plans, and failover strategies for physical and virtual environments.

We are seeking a IT-orientedSystem Engineer 3to join ourSecurity and Electronic Systems (SES)business Unit. As part of(SES)Strategic Business Unit you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for the design, implementation, operations & maintenance, and cybersecurity for large complex resilient hardware and virtualized infrastructure to ensure implemented solutions meet stakeholder needs, standards, and performance requirements.

Responsibilities

Position Summary:

• Work closely with stakeholders to gather technical requirements, architect solutions, execute on deliverables, and communicate solutions to the entire technical program team and to end-customer stakeholders.
• Conduct analysis, evaluation, engineering, and implementation of system improvements, automation, optimization, and deployments.
• Develop designs and architectural changes to infrastructure environments including physical/logical drawings, engineering design plans, implementation plans, transition plans, test plans, and failover plans.
• Perform security updates to hardware and software to ensure the security posture across all systems implemented and managed.

Qualifications

Clearance/Citizen Type: Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. Citizenship, for access to classified information; active Secret Clearance is required.

Position / Candidate Requirements:

• U.S. Citizen with adjudicated U.S. Secret Clearance.
• Bachelors Degree and 5+ years of progressive experience. Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical, or a Related Engineering/IT Discipline.
• Some experience eliciting requirements, conducting research, designing, testing, and implementing hardware and software solutions for virtual infrastructure technologies.
• Engineering experience with some of the following core platforms and services:
  • VMware ESXi and vSphere.
  • Microsoft Windows Server Deployment and Administration.
  • Microsoft Windows 11 Deployment and Administration.
  • DNS, DFS, and DHCP.
  • Windows Server Update Services (WSUS), Key Management Service (KMS)
  • Active Directory and defining, implementing, and maintaining Group Policy.
  • Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM).
• Experience performing security scans, performing system updates, and applying security configurations, e.g., DISA STIG/SRGs to system hardware and software.
• Some experience virtualizing enterprise applications (Active Directory, MS SQL, RHEL, MS SharePoint, etc.).
• Some experience with API management, scripting languages including PowerShell, Python, JSON, Bash, etc.
• Meet DoD 8570 IAT Level-II requirements.
• Demonstrated background working with multidisciplinary teams.
• Demonstrated time management and organization skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives.
• Strong MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio Skills.

Desired / Advantageous Qualifications and Experience:

• Experience administering OCSP (e.g. Axway Validation Authority, Microsoft OCSP Responder).
• Experience troubleshooting and optimizing the Trellix security product suite (Endpoint Security, DLP, HIPS, etc.).
• Experience designing and deploying SQL Database Infrastructure such as Microsoft SQL Server.
• Experience engineering and implementing platforms and services in a software-defined network environment.
• Vendor certifications, VMware, Cisco, Microsoft, NetApp, etc.
