Job summary

Amentum seeks an experienced IT Systems Administrator & Lab Operations Engineer to support NASA lab environments. You will handle domain/identity administration, endpoint management, system configuration, and day‑to‑day lab IT operations, collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Ideal candidates have strong troubleshooting skills, 5+ years in IT systems administration, and are able to work onsite at Johnson Space Center, with a focus on security, imaging, and incident resolution.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in a related area and a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
• 5+ years of IT Systems Administration or technical support.
• Strong experience with domain management, endpoint administration, and GPO.
• Hands‑on workstation imaging, deployment, and lab‑scale patching.
• Working knowledge of networking fundamentals and basic switch/cabling troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix or willingness to learn.
• Excellent communication, customer service, and cross‑team collaboration skills.
• Must work onsite at NASA JSC and pass required background checks

We are seeking an experienced IT Systems Administrator & Lab Operations Engineer to support engineering lab environments for NASA programs. This role focuses on domain/identity administration, endpoint management, system configuration, and day‑to‑day lab IT operations. • Administer Active Directory, Azure AD/Entra, Group Policy, SSO, and identity workflows
• Server administration (print, SQL, licensing, endpoint management)
• Virtualization experience (VirtualBox or similar)
• NASA or government IT experience
