Job summary

TYR Tactical, LLC seeks an experienced System and Network Administrator to join on-site in Peoria, AZ. The role focuses on maintaining a reliable enterprise network, strengthening security, and supporting Windows, Linux servers, and Active Directory.

Responsibilities include configuring LAN/WAN, virtualization, firewall management, and 2nd-line IT support across TYR sites. On-site work with potential travel to TYR sites is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a network administrator.
• 3+ years operational experience as a system administrator.
• Extensive experience with IPsec VPN provisioning across multiple platforms.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, firewalls).
• Knowledge of cybersecurity standards: DoD DFARS, NIST, and CMMC is a plus.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and be a team player.

Responsibilities

• Provide training and guidance on infrastructure solutions to IT staff and end users.
• Design, analyze, maintain, and implement LAN/WAN equipment and telephony infrastructure.
• Administer and maintain network infrastructure including Cisco routers and LANs.
• Administer virtualization solutions (VMware ESXi, Hyper-V) and AD/DNS/DHCP.
• Monitor network performance and resolve connectivity issues to ensure uptime.
• Configure, manage, and optimize firewall technologies.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues and implement fixes.
• Handle Windows and Linux server environments and Office 365 administration.
• Maintain network documentation and standard operating procedures.
• Support multiple TYR sites' network infrastructure.
• Provide Level 2 IT support for system and user issues.

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced System and Network Administrator to join our team on-site to support and maintain a reliable enterprise network in Peoria, Arizona. This IT position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented and can manage core infrastructure, strengthen network security, and ensure stable connectivity across business operations. The role requires hands‑on expertise with Cisco networking equipment, firewall platforms, Microsoft Windows Servers, and Active Directory in a fast‑paced technical setting.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Provide training and guidance on infrastructure solutions and related topics to internal IT staff and end users
• Designs, analyzes, maintains, and implements LAN/WAN equipment, network, and telephony infrastructure, including maintenance of security measures and solutions * Administer and maintain network infrastructure, including Cisco routers, switching environments, and LAN connectivity to support daily operations
• Administer virtualization solutions, such as VMware ESXi and Microsoft Hyper‑V * Support Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and identity management systems
• Monitor network performance, identify connectivity issues, and resolve disruptions to maintain consistent system availability
• Configure, manage, and optimize firewall technologies to protect systems and enforce network security standards
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and communication issues across the network and implement timely corrective actions
• Perform network updates, configuration changes, and infrastructure improvements while minimizing operational downtime
• Working knowledge of Windows, Linux Servers, Office 365, Active Directory administration, and access management
• Strong hands‑on knowledge of Cisco routers, Cisco networking, and LAN environments * Familiarity with network documentation, maintenance processes, and operational best practices
• Support Multiple sites network infrastructure
• Provide Level 2 IT support, troubleshooting system and user issues

Qualifications:

• 5 or more years of experience as a network administrator
• Minimum of 3 years operational experience as a system administrator
• Extensive operational experience with IPsec VPN tunnel provisioning across multiple platforms
• Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, firewalls)
• Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and procedures in a dynamic manufacturing environment
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity protocols
• Experience with DoD DFARS, NIST, and CMMC cybersecurity practice standards a plus
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and be a team player with a proactive and adaptable approach
• Excellent communication and organizational skills. Preferred Certifications: Cisco CCNA or Microsoft CompTIA

Working Environment:

• This role operates in a professional office environment within a high-activity manufacturing facility. It requires a balance between desktop IT operations and active, on-site operational oversight is required.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or IT Certifications
• Must be at least 18 years or older
• Previous experience in a manufacturing operations environment a plus.
