Job summary

Altec is seeking an IT professional to support information systems planning, implementation, and administration across a business unit. The role covers diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues, plus maintaining documentation and backups.

You will install and monitor LAN/WAN networks, enforce security measures, and collaborate with end users and vendors to ensure reliable service delivery.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; technical degree preferred for advancement.
• Bachelor’s degree (technical) preferred; 2 years relevant experience required.
• Experience with IT help desk, hardware, software, and network support.

Responsibilities

• Plans and implements technology solutions to meet business unit needs in alignment with enterprise standards.
• Collaborates with end users to diagnose and resolve technical issues across hardware, software, and network systems.
• Manages relationships with local technology vendors to support service delivery and procurement.
• Maintains detailed documentation of IT methodologies, processes, and system specifications; assists with planning and scheduling of IT initiatives.
• Installs and monitors network infrastructure including LANs, WANs, and wireless networks to ensure performance and reliability.
• Implements basic security measures to protect systems, networks, and data; ensures backup strategies and recovery plans are current.
• Supports and contributes to the development and enforcement of enterprise technology policies and procedures.
• Travel up to 25% may be required, specific assignments may have additional travel requirements.
• Continued enhancement of skills and knowledge base.
