Job summary

The district is seeking an IT Specialist to support instructional technology across campuses. You will work with staff to implement technology in classrooms and ensure reliable hardware and software functionality.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate Degree preferred in a related field.
  • Coursework or experience in instructional technology is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with district staff to improve student education through instructional technology.
  • Assist in planning, coordinating and implementing instructional technology applications.
  • Provide ongoing in-service to teachers, administrators and paraprofessionals in the use of instructional technology and hardware.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software to identify computer malfunctions.
  • Maintain technology inventory records and paperwork.
  • Coordinate efforts to assist schools in selecting, acquiring, and evaluating computer hardware and software.

Qualifications

  • AssociateDegreeinarelatedfieldfromanaccreditedcollegeoruniversityispreferred.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • CooperatingwiththeDistrictstaffinthetotalefforttobringaboutqualityeducationforstudentsthroughthe use ofinstructional technology.
  • Assistinginplanning,coordinatingandimplementinginstructionaltechnologyapplicationsconsistentwith established projectobjectivesand activities.
  • Providingon-goingin-servicetoteachers,administratorsandPara-professionalsintheuseofinstructional technology and the use of hardware applications.
  • Troubleshootshardwareandsoftwaretoidentifycomputermalfunctions.
  • Maintainstechnologyinventoryrecordsandpaperwork.
  • Coordinatingeffortstoassistschoolsintheidentification,selection,acquisition,useandevaluationofcomputer hardware andappropriate software.
  • Establishingandmaintainingtechnologyresourcesappropriateforclassroomuse.
  • Attendingrequiredlocal,stateandothermeetings/workshops/conferencesforthepurposeofsharingand collecting information gained with the district schools.
  • Performsotherjobrelateddutiesasrequired.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements
  • LightWork:mayrequireoccasionallightlifting.

  • Positionisinschoolsettingandrequiresprolongedworkatadeskinonelocation,walking,andstanding.
  • Moderate travel is required.
