Job summary

Abraxas Youth & Family Services seeks a Hybrid IT Support Specialist to maintain and improve information systems across the organization. You will support software, hardware, and network infrastructure while collaborating with staff to ensure reliable technology services.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years in IT, strong customer service, and solid knowledge of Windows OS, 365/M365, Adobe, and Azure AD. This role requires security awareness and proactive problem solving in a dynamic nonprofit

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or Technical Certifications is required.
  • 1–3 years in Information Technology or related field is required.
  • Strong customer service orientation with proven accomplishments.
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft OS, 365/M365, Adobe, database fundamentals, Azure AD, and AV software.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and monitor current software programs and licenses.
  • Implement and update software programs; work with vendors to ensure compliance.
  • Administer Windows-based network and infrastructure; manage user accounts and permissions.
  • Provide staff training and support; ensure security and licensing compliance.
  • Purchase and maintain hardware and software; review costs of purchases and updates.
  • Operate and maintain hardware inventory; administer network and security systems.
  • Support enterprise technologies including consumer information systems.

NOW HIRING HYBRID IT SUPPORT SPECIALIST

POSITION STATEMENT:

  • The IT Specialist will:
  • Report all information pertaining to all key indicators of the organization to include but not be limited to Information System Issues. The IT Support Specialist will function with autonomy, diplomacy and professionalism within the guidelines established by this organization.
  • Promote the well-being of the human aspect of this organization and report any concerns to the Technical Operations Manager
  • Function with the highest esteem in dealing with all employees, supervisors, and consumers of this organization
  • Be an advocate for all the policies and protocols of the organization

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB AND ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS:

  • INFORMATION SYSTEM
  • Software Programs
  • Monitor and maintain current software programs
  • Implement new and update old software programs
  • Work with Software vendor to assure compliance of same
  • Maintain network functions and problem solve as required
  • Learn new programs, and train/monitor staff
  • Ensure licensing of all new software programs
  • Assist the Technical Operations Manager to purchase and set up new and existing software programs.
  • Review and present all facts pertaining to financial obligations of software purchases and updates.
  • Hardware
  • Diagnose, repair, and replace malfunctioning hardware components, including desktop, laptop, printer and peripherals.
  • Make recommendations for new hardware and assist in the contract negotiations with computer technology companies
  • Monitor and update system as necessary to avoid problems
  • Problem solve PC applications and offer training to support staff
  • Ensure registration and/or licensing compliance with all PC applications
  • Assist the Technical Operations Manager purchase and maintain new and existing hardware
  • Review and present all facts pertaining to financial obligations of hardware purchases and updates

    MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

    • Associate degree or Technical Certifications

      • Current driver’s license, driver registration and a functional vehicle

      • Telephone: Cellular - Multi-line, Calculator, Copier, Fax, Computer
    • COMPUTER SOFTWARE APPLICATIONS:
      • Has knowledge of each program

    WORK SETTING/TRAVEL:

    Hybrid, with a heavy traveling between affiliates

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • Individual must be able to meet physical requirements of the job:
      • Sitting at a meeting table or desk – Reaching – Lifting – Bending – Standing – Stooping – Twisting –
    Climbing steps - Driving a vehicle
