We are seeking a full‑time, remote Software Engineer Senior position.

Location: Chicago, Dallas or Tampa Area

Employment type: Remote; employee will attend the office monthly.

Interview Type: Remote and In‑Person (final round)

Position Responsibilities:

  • Research, design, write, and test new software programs.
  • Develop design specifications for required software and hardware, reviewing with the development team.
  • Develop software to meet design specifications or modify existing systems.
  • Integrate incompatible platforms and create linking code.
  • Maintain systems by monitoring, identifying, and correcting software defects.
  • Investigate new technologies and provide input to current software selection tools.
  • Create and update technical documentation using high‑level specifications.
  • Plan, conduct, and document unit tests.
  • Write operational deployment documentation and other technical documents.
  • Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, and DBAs to maintain and troubleshoot software.
  • Continuously update technical knowledge through courses and conferences.
  • Apply problem‑solving and lateral thinking to meet project needs.
  • Participate in architecture, design, and delivery of system software.
  • Train or assist in training IT and user personnel on software implementation.
  • Plan projects by identifying tasks, estimating time, and defining completion dates.
  • Communicate status to supervisors and team members.
  • Ensure quality throughout the system development life cycle and recommend improvements.
  • Maintain support, troubleshoot, and enhance current production applications.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS, CE, or related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of object‑oriented development, especially N‑tier distributed systems.
  • 5 years of full‑stack Java application development experience.
  • Excellent Java coding background and familiarity with JavaScript, GitHub, Jenkins Pipeline, Spring Framework, Java, MQ, RabbitMQ, Kafka, or Kinesis.
  • Knowledge of SQL Server, DB2, or Oracle; strong SQL and query tuning skills.
  • Experience with Agile Scrum and test‑driven development.
  • Exposure to Azure DevOps, Azure API APIM, Gateway, and AKS preferred.
  • Strong leadership, data analysis, rapid application design, and communication skills.
