Job description

About Ramp

Ramp is building the smart infrastructure for finance teams, embedded in the transaction flow of every dollar a business spends. We automate how over $200B in annualized spend flows in and out of 70,000+ companies: authorizing payments, flagging risk, categorizing spend, and closing books.

The problems are high-stakes, data-dense, and unforgiving.

We hire people with high agency and high urgency. We look for slope over intercept. We care less about where you trained and more about what you’ve built. At Ramp, everyone is a builder who owns problems end to end and makes consequential decisions that shape the outcome.

The median Ramp customer saves 5% and grows revenue 16% in their first year – far in excess of businesses operating without Ramp. We believe every ambitious company deserves the same.

If you want to build systems that directly shape how companies move and manage billions, Ramp is the place to do it.

About the Role

We’re looking for an IT Site Specialist to join our IT Team at Ramp based in our San Francisco office! This is a contract on-site role that blends hands-on, in-person site support with ownership of our core SaaS application stack, and we weigh both sides equally. On the site side, you’ll be the primary IT presence in SF — owning deskside support, onboarding/offboarding, endpoint and AV support, and office inventory. On the application side, you’ll administer the tools the whole company depends on — Okta, Google Workspace, Slack, JAMF, and a growing set of SaaS platforms — owning provisioning, access, portfolio, renewals, integrations, and automation. We’re looking for someone who takes pride in running a smooth on-the-ground operation while also thinking like a systems owner who scales IT through automation and sound identity practices.

What You’ll Do
  • Provide in-person support at our San Francisco office 5 days/week, acting as the site’s primary IT point of contact.

  • Perform IT Support Specialist (L4) duties, encompassing all responsibilities of the IT Support Specialist role.

  • Provide deskside/walk-up support and resolve IT tickets end-to-end.

  • Handle advanced troubleshooting and internal escalation before handoff to Pod 2 – IT Engineering.

  • Triage and field support requests across tickets, email, Slack, and the team-it-ops and help-it distros; proactively work to minimize volume and improve SLAs.

  • Direct and review Serval (AI support agent) workflow runs — step in when automated resolution fails, and contribute workflow builds and guidance improvements.

  • Coordinate application onboarding/offboarding tied to lifecycle events (joiner/mover/leaver) — provisioning, deprovisioning, and access changes across the SaaS stack.

  • Administer core applications (Okta, Google Workspace, Slack, JAMF, and other SaaS tools): user lifecycle, group/role management, and SSO/SCIM integrations.

  • Own application portfolio management — seat counts, usage tracking, and license optimization.

  • Manage SaaS renewals — tracking contract dates and coordinating renewals/cancellations.

  • Partner with Pod 3 on SaaS App Strategy execution from an operational/usage standpoint.

  • Build and maintain integrations and automations to reduce manual work and enforce least-privilege access.

  • Manage on-site hardware inventory, lifecycle, and procurement coordination — stock levels, reorder requests, and coordinating with fulfillment vendors (e.g., Firstbase, SHI, CDW, Amazon).

  • Support AV/conference room reliability in the SF office.

  • Take ownership of small and large projects, partnering with internal and external teams to deliver.

  • Perform recurring audits on application licenses, access, and hardware; drive remediation.

  • Create technical and user-facing documentation; push the team toward industry best practices.

  • Be an advocate for our users — understand their challenges and remove blockers with empathy.

What You Need
  • Minimum 4 years of technical experience in an enterprise-size organization, with hands-on experience in both on-site IT support and SaaS/application administration.

  • Strong knowledge of our core tech stack: Okta, Google Workspace, Slack, JAMF, and modern SaaS tools.

  • Solid understanding of User Lifecycle Management, identity/access management, and least-privilege principles.

  • Experience with SSO/SCIM provisioning and building integrations or automations across SaaS platforms.

  • Experience managing SaaS application portfolios, license optimization, and vendor renewals.

  • Experience with deskside support, ticket resolution, and knowing when to elevate to an engineering team.

  • Comfort owning the physical site experience — endpoint troubleshooting, AV, and inventory — alongside back-end application administration.

  • Strong attention to detail, execution-oriented, and comfortable owning ambiguous, cross-functional work.

Nice-to-Haves
  • Experience in high-growth startups.

  • Experience managing macOS/Windows in hybrid/remote environments.

  • Scripting/automation experience (e.g., Python, API integrations, workflow tools).

  • Experience with AI-assisted support tooling and workflow automation (e.g., Serval or similar).

  • Experience coordinating hardware procurement with fulfillment vendors (e.g., Firstbase, SHI, CDW).

  • Okta Certified Professional / Administrator.

  • Slack Certified Admin.

  • Google Workspace Administrator experience.
