Clark Public Utilities seeks an IT Senior Systems Engineer to design, implement, and support enterprise VMware, Horizon/VDI, and Windows Server infrastructure. You will lead architecture, drive upgrades, and collaborate with cybersecurity teams to enhance resiliency and disaster recovery readiness.
The role requires strong AD/Group Policy skills, scripting, and the ability to mentor staff while maintaining service availability in a hybrid cloud environment.
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience demonstrating the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the position. Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, troubleshooting, and supporting enterprise VMware vSphere/ESXi, VMware Horizon/VDI, Windows Server, and related infrastructure. Working knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, storage, backup/recovery, and hybrid cloud environments is expected. PowerShell, scripting, or automation experience is desirable. Candidates must demonstrate strong analytical, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, the ability to manage competing priorities independently, mentor technical staff, and a commitment to continuous learning.
Employees and dependents are eligible for medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance and disability insurance. Employees are enrolled in Washington State PERS and may enroll in deferred compensation plans. Employees will also receive eight hours of vacation leave and sick leave every month and twelve paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
Employees are compensated within the established salary range. As skills, experience, and sustained performance grow, pay may progress within the range over time, with midpoint serving as a general reference point for employees who demonstrate full proficiency in the role.
