Job summary

IBM Consulting is seeking a Security Specialist in Infrastructure Security to design and deploy Cloud & Infrastructure Security services for client billable engagements. You will collaborate with development, services, and network teams to ensure effective incident resolution and align with client requirements.

You will bring expertise in Firewalls, SASE, WAF/DDOS, and micro-segmentation, plus experience across multiple cloud environments to secure infrastructure and meet security goals.

Your role and responsibilities

As a Security Specialist in Infrastructure Security, you will apply your technical expertise to implement and deploy Cloud & Infrastructure Security services for client billable services. You will work closely with development, services, and network teams to ensure the relevance and effectiveness of technical solutions provided for incident resolution.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Implement Security Solutions: Design and execute implementation plans, testing plans, and deployment plans using security technology and solutions to meet client requirements. This involves creating proof-of-concepts and ensuring the integrity and resilience of critical networks/systems.
  • Provide Technical Guidance: Offer technical guidance and assistance to clients and IBM personnel in multi-vendor, multi-protocol environments, leveraging expert knowledge in infrastructure security elements such as Firewalls, SASE, WAF/DDOS, and Micro Segmentation.
  • Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with development, services, and network teams to ensure the relevance and effectiveness of technical solutions provided for incident resolution.
  • Support Client Requirements: Apply technical expertise to support service products using assets and reference architectures, meeting client requirements for Cloud & Infrastructure Security services.

Required technical and professional expertise

  • Exposure to Infrastructure Security: Experience working with infrastructure security elements such as Firewalls, SASE, WAF/DDOS, and Micro Segmentation to secure cloud and infrastructure environments.
  • Implementation Planning: Exposure to designing and executing implementation plans, testing plans, and deployment plans using security technology and solutions to meet client requirements.
  • Multi-Vendor Environment: Experience working in multi-vendor, multi-protocol environments, providing technical guidance and assistance to clients and personnel.
  • Cloud & Infrastructure Security: Exposure to applying technical expertise to support service products using assets and reference architectures for Cloud & Infrastructure Security services.
  • Incident Resolution: Experience working with development, services, and network teams to ensure the relevance and effectiveness of technical solutions provided for incident resolution.

Preferred technical and professional experience

  • Advanced Security Technologies: Exposure to emerging security technologies and trends in Cloud & Infrastructure Security, including threat intelligence, advanced threat protection, and security orchestration.
  • Multi-Cloud Environments: Experience working with multiple cloud providers, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and securing infrastructure in these environments.
  • Scripting and Automation: Exposure to scripting languages, such as Python or PowerShell, and automation tools, such as Ansible or Terraform, to automate security tasks and workflows.
