Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor seeks a security-focused professional to manage KMS and enterprise security across the network and servers. You will protect cryptographic keys, enforce security policies, and respond to incidents within a high-paced manufacturing environment.

You’ll analyze external and internal threats, participate in risk assessments, and ensure compliance with security standards while providing on-call support and guidance to the IT organization.

Qualifications

• Requires a BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Security or related field.
• Minimum 3+ years of relevant IT security experience.
• SANS, ISACA, (ICS)2, CompTIA, Cisco, CERT or similar cybersecurity certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up, maintain, and monitor the Key Management Service (KMS) to secure encryption keys and data workflows.
• Manage IT security and IT risk across IT systems, networks, and Web.
• Set up, maintain, and monitor various IT security systems and applications.
• Oversee network and gateway security, including firewall and proxy policy management and monitoring.
• Address questions from internal and external audits and examinations.
• Identify security issues and risks; develop mitigation plans.
• Ensure compliance with corporate IT security practices and policy enforcement; monitor for violations.
• Provide on-call on-site support for all IT security systems and applications.

Position Summary

Ownership will include Key Management Service (KMS) architecture, enterprise server security, network security systems, and endpoint security, with a primary emphasis on enterprise KMS and server security. This role is a key defensive position to ensure cryptographic keys and secrets are securely managed, and all servers have adequate protection to prevent unauthorized access, meet necessary compliance standards, and limit potential vulnerabilities.

You will serve in a critical role within a high-paced manufacturing environment responsible for analyzing external and internal threats in order to protect sensitive data within the organization's network and office automation devices. This position will be a primary resource for Network/Server/ PC Security (Data encryption, print security, device control)/Anti-Virus for security at Samsung Austin Semiconductor (SAS) and provide an explanation of various policies, procedures, rules, work methods, services, etc.

Role And Responsibilities

Here’s What You’ll Be Responsible For:

• Key Management Service (KMS) Administration: Set up, maintain, and monitor the Key Management Service (KMS) to secure encryption keys, manage data encryption workflows, and protect sensitive organizational data.
• Enterprise Risk Management: Manage IT security and IT risk across the company, including data systems, network, and Web.
• Security System Oversight: Set up, maintain, and monitor various IT security systems and applications.
• Network & Gateway Security: Manage and optimize network security controls, focusing on the policy, policy management, and monitoring of firewalls and proxy servers to secure inbound and outbound traffic.
• Audit & Exam Readiness: Address questions from internal and external audits and examinations.
• Risk Identification: Identify security issues and risks, and develop comprehensive mitigation plans.
• Compliance & Policy Enforcement: Perform local IT operations that are in compliance with corporate IT security practices, while monitoring for adherence and policy violations.
• On-Call Availability: Provide reliable, rotating on-call support to ensure the continuous availability, troubleshooting, and rapid incident response for all owned IT security systems and applications.

Skills And Qualifications

Here’s What You’ll Need:

• BS Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Security or related field
• Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience
• Strong foundational understanding of computer networking protocols, operation system security, and cryptography SANS, ISACA, (ICS)2, CompTIA, Cisco, CERT, OR other recognized technical cybersecurity certifications are preferred.

The current base salary range for this role is between $$95,000 - $120,000. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.

This position may include access to controlled information or technology under U.S. export control laws. Employment may be contingent on either the applicant verifying that the applicant falls under the “U.S. Person” definition (including U.S. citizens, U.S. lawful permanent residents, and those granted U.S. asylum or refugee status) or the employer timely obtaining any necessary export license under federal law.
