Job summary

Talan seeks an IT Project Manager/Business Analyst to drive the Orchestrade-based ETRM implementation for an energy client in Texas. Based in Houston with a hybrid work arrangement, you will gather requirements from trading, risk, operations, and finance stakeholders and align IT delivery with business needs.

You will collaborate with business users, project management, and technical teams across Texas and Europe, leading design workshops, supporting testing and UAT, and enabling change

Qualifications

• 5+ years of BA experience in Energy Trading, Commodities Trading, or Capital Markets environments.
• Strong experience with ETRM platforms; Orchestrade preferred.
• Expertise in US Power Market is highly desirable.
• Experience with large-scale trading platform implementations.
• Ability to gather requirements and interact with both business and technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and document requirements from trading, risk, operations, and finance stakeholders.
• Act as liaison between business users, project management, and technical teams throughout the lifecycle.
• Participate in workshops and contribute to solution design activities.
• Support the implementation and configuration of the ETRM platform.
• Analyze trading workflows and operational processes across the full trade lifecycle.
• Contribute to deployment of Deal Capture, Pricing, Risk Monitoring, P&L, Invoicing functionality.
• Challenge and refine requirements for scalable solutions.
• Support testing activities including test prep, execution, and UAT.
• Assist with change management and user adoption initiatives.

IT Project Manager/Business Analyst – ETRM Implementation (Energy)

Location:Houston (Hybrid – at least 4 days onsite/week)

Visa Sponsorship:We offer sponsorship under specific treaty-based U.S. work visas, including TN and E-2 (for eligible Canadian, Mexican, and French citizens). We do not support or transfer other visa types (e.g., H-1B).

We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst to support the implementation of the Orchestrade platform for a leading energy trading client.

Working closely with business, trading, and IT teams across Texas and Europe, you will gather and define business requirements, analyze trading processes, and help ensure the successful delivery of this strategic ETRM transformation program.

Responsibilities

• Support testing activities, including test preparation, execution, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Assist with change management and user adoption initiatives.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst within Energy Trading, Commodities Trading, or Capital Markets environments.
• Strong experience working with ETRM platforms.
• Previous Orchestrade experience is highly preferred.Candidates with experience on similar platforms will also be considered, including: Calypso, Murex
• Strong understanding of power trading markets.
• Expertise in the US Power Market is highly desirable.
• Candidates with significant European Power Market and forward trading experience will also be considered.
• Deep understanding of the energy trading lifecycle.
• Experience participating in large-scale trading platform implementation projects.
• Strong requirements gathering and business process analysis capabilities.
• Ability to interact effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
