IT Project Manager

Location: Washington, D.C. Metro (Hybrid - U.S.-based only)

Clearance Requirement: Must be eligible for Public Trust

Type: Full-time | Contingent upon contract award

Overview

PBG is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead Agile teams delivering high-impact digital modernization initiatives within federal environments. This position is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in fast-paced settings, drives technical execution, and excels at aligning cross-functional stakeholders to strategic goals.

The ideal candidate brings a strong background in Agile project delivery, technical team leadership, and working within complex enterprise or government IT frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day Agile delivery across multiple modernization and transformation workstreams
  • Develop and manage detailed project schedules, resource plans, risk registers, and status reports
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, technical leads, and executive stakeholders to ensure alignment between business needs and technical solutions
  • Facilitate Scrum ceremonies (standups, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives) and drive continuous delivery improvements
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), sprint velocity, and release progress
  • Ensure compliance with federal IT governance, cybersecurity standards, and quality assurance frameworks
  • Support DevSecOps practices, cloud adoption, and cross-team coordination within Agile release trains or SAFe environments
  • Champion delivery excellence, team collaboration, and agile transformation best practices

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of IT project management experience, with increasing responsibilities (5–10+ years preferred for senior candidates)
  • PMP certification required; SAFe, CSM, or other Agile certifications preferred
  • Proven success managing Agile development teams in federal or enterprise IT environments
  • Skilled in preparing technical content and delivery strategy for proposal orals and Tech Challenge presentations in support of new business pursuits
  • Experience participating in and presenting during Technical Challenges (e.g., orals, solution demos) as part of competitive proposal efforts
  • Experience overseeing software development, cloud infrastructure projects, or digital modernization initiatives
  • Familiarity with government contracting and associated compliance and reporting requirements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including executive stakeholder engagement
  • Skilled in Jira, Confluence, or similar Agile project management tools

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working with federal agencies, system integrators, or enterprise-level IT systems
  • Exposure to DevSecOps pipelines, CI/CD, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Working knowledge of security and quality frameworks (e.g., NIST, FISMA, FedRAMP)
