Job summary

Orange County Government is seeking an experienced IT professional to manage and implement complex business applications for a 24/7 environment. You will coordinate cross-functional teams, provide technical guidance, and ensure on-time delivery while maintaining high standards of service.

The role emphasizes supervisory responsibilities, strong programming and systems analysis, and preference for .NET familiarity to support enterprise applications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field with five years progressive programming and systems analysis experience.
  • Two years of supervisory experience with project management and implementation responsibility required.
  • Preference given to applicants with .NET development experience.

Job Description
General Functions

Responsible for all aspects of the development and implementation of assigned projects. Performs a full range of professional and senior-level technical duties in areas where precedents are not clearly defined. Coordinates programming staff work efforts.

Work is performed with independence and initiative under the general supervision of the Enterprise IT Manager. Performance is reviewed through observations, conferences, reports and achievement of desired results.

The selected candidate will be required to support County applications that operate on a 24/7/365 basis. Accordingly, the participation and oversight in on-call duties and availability for after-hours support will be expected.

Representative Duties/Assignments
  • Serves as lead liaison to client side Executives and Managers.
  • Directs, plans, schedules, assigns, coordinates, evaluates and supervises project teams in the implementation and maintenance of highly complex technical computer applications to ensure accuracy, timeliness and thoroughness.
  • Analyzes complex technical problems, identifies potential resolutions and prescribes subsequent courses of action.
  • Provides technical assistance, guidance, and work direction to team members.
  • Monitors projects, participates in the planning, review, and design of business applications.
  • Reviews, evaluates and makes recommendations of software and hardware products.
  • Maintains current technology expertise.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science or other closely related field and five years progressively responsible programming experience and systems analysis experience. Experience must include two years of supervisory experience with project management and implementation responsibility.

Preferences

Application development experience is essential with preference of candidates with programming applications using .NET technologies.

Pay Grade: 025 - From $51.41 to $68.84
