Job summary

Naval Nuclear Laboratory seeks an IT Professional to join the Information Technology team within the Shipboard Electrical Systems Department. The role involves administering two key networks, configuring infrastructure, and delivering advanced technical support while learning new technologies.

Required: a bachelor's degree with 4+ years of relevant experience or a master's with 2+ years, plus Cisco, Microsoft Server, and RHEL experience. Travel between Pennsylvania and New York is possible.

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Configure and manage network infrastructure.
  • Perform hardware upgrades following an obsolescence management plan.

  • Follow NR cybersecurity polices and author CSCRs as necessary.
  • Work on IT projects that will benefit the NR Electrical Community.

The Shipboard Electrical Systems (SES) Department is seeking an IT Professional to join the Information Technology team. This position will allow an IT Professional to work as part of a team administering two computer networks that are key to achieving organizational goals. This position will utilize the selected candidate's IT experience while providing opportunities to learn new technologies to grow their IT skillset.

Responsibilities include:
  • Configure and manage network infrastructure
  • Perform hardware upgrades following an obsolescence management plan
  • Provide advanced level technical support
  • Follow NR cybersecurity polices and author CSCRs as necessary
  • Working on IT projects that will benefit the NR Electrical Community
Required Combination Of Knowledge And Skill

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

Pay Range

$78,700.00 - $120,500.00 annually

Salary information provided is a general guideline only. Annual salary is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is operated for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) by Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Fluor Corporation. Naval Nuclear Laboratory personnel are FMP employees who work at four DOE facilities: Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory, Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory, Kenneth A. Kesselring Site, and Naval Reactors Facility, and at the U.S. Department of Defense‑owned Nuclear Power Training Unit-Charleston. FMP employees also have an established presence at numerous shipyards and vendor locations. For nearly 70 years, the Naval Nuclear Laboratory has developed advanced nuclear propulsion technology, provided technical support, and trained world‑class nuclear operators to ensure the safe and reliable operation of our nation's submarine and aircraft carrier Fleets. The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is a national asset solely dedicated to the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program. We rely on the dedication and innovation of our nearly 8000 engineers, scientists, technicians, and support personnel.
