Job Description

The IT Product Manager is responsible for the management of a product, system, or process lifecycle from strategic planning to tactical execution within the information technology department.

Job Summary

The IT Product Manager leads product strategy, builds product roadmaps, translates strategy into detailed requirements, and oversees the entire product lifecycle from ideation to launch and ongoing support.

Job Duties
  • Define product strategy and build product roadmaps.
  • Translate product strategy into detailed requirements for prototypes and final product development by engineering teams.
  • Lead the launch of new product features and experiences, investigating problems, drafting requirements/user stories, planning development sprints, building user testing plans, and supporting continuous releases.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with business line leaders and executive stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain constructive working relationships with project team members, vendors, and other departments.
  • Oversee all aspects of assigned IT projects and take ownership of ensuring their success.
  • Plan and direct the work effort involved with implementation or upgrade of systems.
  • Develop scope documents, statements of work, and other documentation supporting new projects.
  • Work closely with third‑party vendors to ensure project efforts are controlled and completed on time.
  • Lead and direct the work of project teams to ensure project efforts are controlled and completed on time.
  • Work with subject matter experts to establish resource plans, expected effort, and duration for tasks.
  • Review and understand or prepare, as needed, business requirements and objectives documentation.
  • Coordinate to ensure product communications and training materials are available.
  • Work with operational teams for a smooth transition from implementation to production and ongoing support phases.
  • Work with vendors and stakeholders to understand product subscription, contract terms, and renewal cycles to best manage fiscal budget.

Experience
  • Six (6) or more years IT experience, required.
  • Experience as a Product Manager, IT Project Manager, Business Systems Analyst, Software Systems Analyst, Business Process Analyst, Technology Support Analyst, or Software Developer, required.
  • Experience using a standard project management methodology, required.
  • Experience with scrum and other agile development methods, preferred.
  • Experience leading and directing the work of others in a project‑oriented capacity, preferred.
  • Experience with the concepts of Project Programs and Portfolios, preferred.
  • Familiar with a web‑based applications environment, preferred.
  • Familiar with relational database concepts, preferred.
  • Previous experience working in a professional services firm, preferred.
License / Certifications
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification, preferred.
  • PMI Agile Certified Practitioner or similar certification, preferred.
Software
  • Experience with project planning applications, preferred.
  • Experience managing projects in connection with Oracle Cloud, PeopleSoft Financials, PeopleSoft Enterprise Services Automation, Onestream, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, ServiceNow, Azure Data Factory, Azure DevOps, preferred.

Compensation

Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.
National Range: $125,000 - $155,000
Maryland Range: $125,000 - $155,000
NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $125,000 - $155,000
