Job summary

Maximus is seeking a Principal DevOps Architect to provide technical leadership across enterprise DevOps, cloud architecture, containerization, software delivery, and automation. Qualifications

• 15+ years enterprise IT experience with solution architecture, cloud platforms, software development, integration, delivery leadership, and government program experience preferred.
• Strong coding skills across full stack (.NET 4, .NET 8+), JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Vue.js, and SQL Server.
• Experience with data modeling, complex SQL queries, and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with OIDC, SAML 2.0, and JWT authentication; designing secure software solutions.
• Experience with AWS services and software release pipelines.
• Knowledge of software architecture, design patterns, and secure development practices.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement DevOps and containerization best practices and automation across the enterprise.
• Serve as a technology thought leader, aligning business needs with industry best practices.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring within the DevOps Engineering team.
• Define and implement configuration management for the enterprise SDLC.
• Manage source code, branching, merging, and packaging; mentor junior engineers.
• Collaborate with Cloud Services on installations, upgrades, deployments, and containers.
• Develop automation scripts for build, deploy, and versioning activities.
• Resolve complex issues in version control and CI systems.
• Oversee large, technically complex projects and assure service delivery excellence.

We are seeking a Principal DevOps Architect to provide technical leadership across enterprise DevOps, cloud architecture, containerization, software delivery, and automation. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Define and implement DevOps and Containerization best practices, software release pipelines, and automation to be leveraged across the enterprise.
• Serve as a thought leader in assessing business needs and current industry best practices and solutions, and matching them to further business goals.
• Serve as a technical lead for training and instilling best practices in the DevOps Engineering team, promoting team competencies and excellence.
• Define, develop, and implement the configuration management system which supports the enterprise software development life cycle (SDLC).
• Manage source code within the Version Control System (i.e. branching, sync, merge); compile, assemble, and package software from source code, and mentor less senior team members in this discipline.
• Work with Cloud Services to perform and validate installations/upgrades/deployments/containers, enabling team self sufficiency in every case.
• Develop automation scripts for build, deployment, and versioning activities.
• Research and resolve complex technical problems associated with the version control and continuous integration systems.
• Work with developers, testers, and IT operational staff to administer source code management toolsets, automate builds and deployments, configure continuous integration environments, and contribute to all facets of the software build and release cycles.
• Oversee large, technically complex projects and support leadership in assuring service delivery excellence.
