Job description

We are seeking a highly experienced IT PMO Program Manager with domain expertise in SAP ERP platforms (on-premise and cloud) to lead and manage concurrent SAP-related programs. This strategic role ensures the successful delivery of SAP projects such as ECC-to-S/4HANA migrations, upgrades, and system integrations by applying industry best practices, including SAP Activate methodology. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project governance, cross-functional leadership, and an advanced understanding of SAP technical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple concurrent SAP projects, ensuring alignment with business goals, timelines, and budgets.
• Serve as a servant leader, removing impediments, fostering collaboration, and enabling efficient team performance.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
• SAP-Specific Project Management
• Manage SAP ECC-to-S/4HANA migrations, upgrades, and technical transformations.
• Lead integration projects involving SAP with cloud SaaS and other on-premise solutions.
• Implement and govern projects using SAP Activate methodology, including deliverables and quality gates.
• Oversee Basis, server architecture, and SAP HANA/database components during infrastructure upgrades.

Technical Expertise

• Provide domain-level understanding of SAP ECC modules: FI, CO, SD, MM, PP, HCM, QM, PS.
• Utilize SAP S/4HANA Cloud, Fiori, embedded analytics, and integration techniques.
• Understand SAP HANA, and cloud hosting platforms (AWS, Azure).
• Use SAP Solution Manager and ABAP insights to support development tracking and environment health.
• Communication & Reporting
• Design and execute project communication plans: status updates, risk reporting, executive summaries.
• Maintain and report on RAID logs, risk registers, and issue logs.
• Lead retrospectives and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Governance & Compliance
• Ensure alignment with enterprise compliance frameworks such as SOX, NIST, DoD, and internal quality processes.
• Maintain governance documentation and enforce project lifecycle adherence to Client standards.

Required Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (required).
• Master’s degree or related professional certifications (preferred).

Experience:

• 7+ years of SAP-focused project management experience (Premise + Cloud).
• Proven track record of SAP ECC-to-S/4HANA migrations, integrations, and upgrades.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and SAP Activate.
• 7+ years of experience managing remote and cross-functional teams.

Leadership & Management:

• Demonstrated ability to motivate teams, resolve conflicts, and align project goals with enterprise strategy.
• Strong facilitation, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.

Certifications (Required & Preferred):

• PMP Certification – Project Management Institute (Required)
• Scrum and Agile certifications (Preferred)
• SAP domain certifications (Highly Desirable)

Technical Skills & Tools:

• Proficient with Planview, JIRA, Confluence, GitLab, and Kanban boards.
• Experience with automation of project management workflows and digital transformation initiatives.
• Familiar with reporting dashboards, SAP Solution Manager, and SAP Analytics tools.
