Job description

UBE Corporation America Inc. is seeking an IT Specialist to serve as the primary local IT resource at our Louisiana plant. This role is critical in overseeing the operation, maintenance and security of the plant’s IT infrastructure, including hardware, software and network systems. The IT Specialist will provide hands‑on support for OT (Operational Technology) systems, SAP, non‑SAP, and ensuring seamless day‑to‑day IT operations and facilitating the plant’s alignment with UBE’s broader IT and digital transformation initiatives.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Serve as the primary local IT resource for the Louisiana plant, responsible for managing IT operations, infrastructure maintenance and security across hardware, software and network systems.
• Provide on‑the‑ground support for daily IT operations, supporting SAP, non‑SAP business application and OT systems critical to plant operations.
• Align activities with different IT vendors, Help desk teams and Internal IT stakeholders.
• Responsible of technical phases inside UCCA’s project (UAT, Cutover, Integration testing, Go‑live, MD, etc.).
• Ensure the secure, reliable and effective operation of all computer systems and related applications at the plant site.
• Act as a local facilitator for data exchange, system testing, connectivity troubleshooting and issue resolution across IT and OT interfaces.
• Collaborate closely with central IT teams to localize system configurations, document data mappings and prepare the plant systems for integration readiness with enterprise‑wide solutions.
• Support the deployment and rollout of UBE’s global and US‑level IT initiatives within the plant, acting as the hands‑and‑feet resource for successful implementation.
• Identify and recommend process optimization opportunities at the site level to support UBE’s ongoing digital transformation efforts.
• Maintain up‑to‑date documentation related to plant IT infrastructure, configurations, support procedures and security protocols.
• Ensure compliance with corporate IT policies, security standards and industry best practices.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 10+ years of relevant experience in IT infrastructure, telecom or end‑user support in a plant or industrial setting.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently in plant‑based IT/OT roles with cross‑functional business exposure.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills; able to adapt in fast‑paced integration settings.
• Basic understanding of SAP, non‑SAP and Intermediate/advance of OT systems.
• Working knowledge of cybersecurity best practices for industrial environments.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Advanced understanding of SAP S/4 Hana, non‑SAP and Intermediate/advance of OT systems include Aveva PI, Hexagon, Yokogawa, LIMS.
