Santa Ana Star is seeking an IT Network Technician to join our IT team at Santa Ana Pueblo, NM. This full-time role supports the network infrastructure, including cabling, switches, routers, wireless systems and VOIP.

Under the Cyber Security Manager, you will install, terminate, and upgrade network hardware, maintain documentation, run backups, and assist Network Administrators and Engineers in preventive and corrective maintenance.

Under the supervision of the Cyber Security Manager maintains the network cabling and assists Network Administrators and Engineers in preventive and corrective maintenance of network infrastructure.

Major Responsibilities/Activities:

• Maintains, terminates and installs network cabling.
• Moves, installs, and upgrades network hardware, wifi, and other network infrastructure systems.
• Assists Network Administrators and Engineers in administration and support of enterprise infrastructure.
• Prepares and maintains technical records and documentation in conformance with department standards.
• Provides technical training to end users regarding infrastructure systems use and procedures.
• Conducts preventive maintenance routines and change control processes for assigned systems to ensure optimal operation while minimizing business impact.
• Performs regular system backups and validates them by disaster recovery testing.
• Ensures compliance of all assigned systems with applicable regulatory frameworks.
• Assists Network Engineers and Administrators in administrating network backbone infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, audio-visual systems, VOIP telecommunications systems, and cabling plant.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Preference is given to qualified Santa Ana Tribal Members.
• Associate’s Degree in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, certification, and experience required.
• Two (2) years’ experience technical support experience in an enterprise environment preferred.
• Prior experience in a casino IT environment preferred.
• CompTIA NET+ certification required.
• A smartphone capable of running company applications and communication systems is required. If a smartphone is not provided by the company, a candidate or employee may be provided a smartphone of the company’s choice, through a payroll deduction program.
• All employees are required to proficiently use a smartphone for company applications, email, and text.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Pueblo of Santa Ana Gaming and Regulatory Commission key gaming license.
