Job summary

Pivotal Solutions in Santa Fe, NM seeks an IT Manager to lead strategy, performance, reliability, and scalability of the enterprise technology environment. You will oversee IT operations, infrastructure, cloud, networks, helpdesk, and enterprise services to align with business goals.

The role drives modernization, cybersecurity collaboration with Risk, incident response, budget oversight, vendor management, and mentoring of a high-performing team.

Qualifications

  • Eight to ten years of progressive IT leadership experience in IT operations, infrastructure, or service delivery.
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field required; master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute an IT Operations strategy aligned with business objectives and modernization priorities.
  • Collaborate with business and project teams to support digital transformation and emerging technologies that enhance efficiency, security, resilience, and member service.
  • Oversee the design, maintenance, and optimization of infrastructure including cloud environments, on-premise systems, networks, data centers, storage, and core platforms.
  • Ensure high availability, scalability, and reliability of enterprise systems, including core banking.
  • Drive standardization, automation, and modernization across infrastructure and operational services.
  • Lead IT service delivery functions such as incident, problem, and change management with a focus on continuous improvement and proactive system monitoring.
  • Partner with Risk to implement cybersecurity best practices, recovery, business continuity, and failover capabilities. Ensure compliance with NCUA, FFIEC, SOC, and internal policies.
  • Oversee budgets, resource allocation, vendor selection, contract management, and service performance.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams while fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and strong cross-departmental collaboration.

Job description

The IT Manager is responsible for developing and directing the strategy, performance, reliability, and scalability of the enterprise technology environment. This role provides leadership over the IT team, supporting infrastructure, cloud platforms, network systems, helpdesk, and enterprise operations. The IT Manager ensures technology capabilities support organizational goals, regulatory requirements, and service demands.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

Requirements

Eight to ten years of progressive IT leadership experience in areas such as IT operations, infrastructure, or service delivery. Familiarity with software development environments is preferred but not required.

Experience
  • Scripting (Intermediate) - Ability to write and modify scripts to automate system tasks, support integrations, and streamline operational workflows using tools such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
  • Requirements Analysis (Intermediate) - Ability to gather, document, and translate business needs into clear technical requirements that support system enhancements and process improvements.
  • Root Cause Analysis (Advanced) - Ability to diagnose complex system, workflow, or integration issues, identify underlying causes, and recommend sustainable solutions.
  • Network Technology (Intermediate) - Understanding of network fundamentals, connectivity troubleshooting, and the relationship between network performance and system behavior.
  • Windows & Linux (Intermediate) - Ability to navigate, configure, and troubleshoot Linux and Windows ‑based systems that support core applications, middleware, or infrastructure components."
Education

Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field required; master’s degree preferred.

Interpersonal Skills

Work frequently involves exercising advanced conflict resolution, giving material presentations, and resolving issues impacting multiple departments or divisions. Role also requires the ability to motivate or influence others as a material part of the role, with a significant level of diplomacy and trust. Obtaining cooperation (internally and/or externally) is an important part of the role and a high level of interpersonal skills is critical to the success of this position.

Physical Requirements
