Job description
Overview

We’re looking for an IT Manager who can own the day-to-day IT operations of a partially remote AAA game studio. This role is about making sure the team—onsite and offsite—has the fast, reliable tools and infrastructure needed to build and ship a large-scale soccer game in Unreal Engine 5.

You’ll be the point person for office networking, workstation builds, and IT resource management, ensuring developers never lose momentum due to technical issues.

You’ll Work On
  • Designing, building, and maintaining developer PCs optimized for Unreal Engine 5
  • Managing internal IT systems: Wi-Fi, LAN, VPN, firewalls, security policies
  • Ensuring network speed, uptime, and reliability across the office and remote connections
  • Provisioning and maintaining local Perforce servers for source control (with backups)
  • Setting up and maintaining shared resources like NAS storage, printers, and local servers
  • Supporting the dev team with workstation setup, OS/driver troubleshooting, and hardware upgrades
  • Coordinating secure access for remote developers and contractors
  • Monitoring hardware performance, bandwidth usage, and IT bottlenecks
  • Occasional cluster/server support for rendering, Incredibuild, or local automation jobs
Requirements
  • 5+ years in IT management or systems administration (game studio experience a big plus)
  • Proven experience building and supporting high-performance PCs for 3D/game dev
  • Strong knowledge of LAN/Wi-Fi administration, VPN setup, and security best practices
  • Experience managing Perforce or similar version control in a local/on-prem environment
  • Hands-on with Windows and Linux server administration
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills across hardware, OS, and networking
Bonus Points
  • Familiarity with Unreal Engine build/test pipelines
  • Experience with distributed compilation tools (Incredibuild) or Jenkins automation
  • Comfort supporting hybrid teams (in-office + remote devs)
  • Passion for soccer or sports games

This is a hands-on IT leadership role: you’ll be the one who keeps the network fast, PCs powerful, and infrastructure reliable so the entire dev team can focus on building the game.
