Job summary

Wilson Elser is seeking a Learning Specialist & Trainer to design and deliver curated training programs, enabling attorneys and staff to adopt firm software and processes with confidence. You’ll partner with attorneys, legal support, and IT to deliver tailored programs, build end-user proficiency, and champion positive change across nationwide offices.

The role emphasizes instructional design, adult learning principles, and hands-on support, including travel to offices for in-person sessions.

Qualifications

The Position

We are seeking a people-first, knowledge-driven Learning Specialist & Trainer who thrives on building meaningful relationships with end users and guiding them through curated, supportive training experiences. The ideal candidate is a recognized subject matter expert in corporate training and its integrated ecosystem, with a genuine passion for empowering people through positive change management. This role is designed for someone who loves working with people, finds deep satisfaction in helping others learn and grow, and understands that successful technology adoption starts with trust, patience, and exceptional communication.Experience working with professionals, ideally attorneys and their assistants, in the legal industry is a plus.

In this role, you will serve as the go-to subject matter expert on the Firm’s applications. Your primary mission is end user enablement: designing and delivering curated training programs that meet users where they are, building their confidence, and ensuring smooth adoption of software tools and processes. This opportunity is ideal for someone who genuinely loves working with people. You will cultivate strong partnerships with the attorneys, the legal support staff and IT teams, acting as a trusted guide who champions positive change management and helps individuals and teams navigate system transitions with clarity and support.You will apply principles of instructional design and adult learning theory to design presentations and training curricula. You will conduct assessments of training to continuously improve training offerings. Travel to any of our nationwide offices as needed to conduct in-person training.

Key Responsibilities

• Create courseware, update intranet content, support end users, and collaborate with IT teams to tailor training strategies for onboarding, new user groups joining the Firm, new product launches, etc.
• Deliver training in a variety of settings, for varied audiences and skill levels; live meetings, one‑on‑one sessions, classroom training, and curate other learning modalities focused on building lasting user confidence and competency.
• Develop and provide IT and end user training on computer hardware and application software
• Conducts the research necessary to develop and revise training courses and prepare appropriate training catalogs
• Prepares all instructor materials (course outline, background material, and training aids)
• Prepares all student materials (course manuals, workbooks, handouts, completion certificates, and course critique forms)
• Serve as the subject matter expert on the firm’s core software, with comprehensive knowledge of the functionality, integrations, and end user workflows, including:
  • Office 365 suite
  • Windows 11
  • iManage
  • Emburse (formerly Chrome River)
  • DropBox
  • Webtime or iTimekeep
  • Zoom/Teams
  • Experience with Atlassian Jira is a plus

Be open to learning legal‑specific software to gain the knowledge needed for training, along with many in‑house products that you'll also use in training sessions.

• Deliver hands‑on, empathetic support and issue resolution that prioritizes the end user experience, building trust and confidence with every interaction by your interpersonal warmth and your commitment to making every user feel supported, capable, and confident.
• Contribute to system enhancements, upgrades, testing, and configuration efforts, translating technical changes into clear, user‑friendly training and communication that supports smooth transitions.
• Partner closely with Attorney and Legal support staff to understand user needs, identify training gaps, and co‑develop solutions that improve system utilization and user satisfaction.
• Lead positive change management initiatives by guiding users through system transitions, new tool rollouts, and process enhancements with empathy, clarity, and a focus on sustainable adoption and user empowerment.
• Travel as needed to deliver in-person training, support system rollouts, and build face‑to‑face relationships with end users across offices.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years in a professional services training role and strong written/spoken communication skills
• Subject matter expertise with Windows OS and its integrated ecosystem.
• Experience supporting a legal or professional services environment preferred.
• Strong technical troubleshooting, systems administration, and operational support capabilities.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a genuine love for working with people; ability to translate complex system concepts into clear, approachable guidance for diverse audiences.
• Deep commitment to end user success, with a demonstrated passion for coaching, mentoring, and walking users through new processes with patience and positivity.
• Proven experience designing and delivering curated training programs, instructional content, and change management communications that drive positive adoption outcomes.
• Adaptable and solutions‑oriented mindset with a desire to continuously improve systems and processes.
• Strong background in positive change management practices, with experience guiding users through technological transitions and fostering enthusiasm for new tools and workflows.

A variety of factors are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to experience, education, licensure and/or certifications, geographic location, market demands, other business and organizational needs, and other factors permitted by law. Final salary wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances. This position is considered full‑time and therefore qualifies for benefits including 401(k) retirement savings plan, medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance. Salary Range: : $75,000 USD - $100,000 USD
