Aquent Talent is seeking a skilled Java technologist for an on-site role in Ann Arbor, MI. The position offers a competitive pay range of $50–$55 per hour and focuses on building robust financial technology solutions that power critical applications for millions of users.

You will contribute to the design and architecture of distributed systems, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and apply deep knowledge of Java, data structures, and design patterns to deliver high-performance software

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience with core Java (client and server).
• 3+ years experience with OOAD/OOA, distributed systems, real-time processing, relational databases, and messaging systems.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms and design patterns (GoF).
• Experience with agile, test-driven development.
• Experience with rich UI frameworks or similar APIs.
• Experience with application development frameworks.
• Experience with Unix/Linux, Windows, and Mac operating systems.
• Experience with build, deploy and test automation tools.
• Demonstrated experience working with core business logic within applications.
• Experience in developing APIs and Frameworks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

What You'll Bring

• 3+ Years Experience with Object-Oriented Analysis/Design (OOA/OOD), distributed systems/software, real-time processing, relational database systems, and messaging systems.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms and design patterns (GoF).
• Experience with agile, test-driven development.
• Experience with rich UI frameworks or similar APIs.
• Experience with application development frameworks.
• Experience with Unix/Linux, Windows, and Mac operating systems.
• Experience with build, deploy and test automation tools.
• Demonstrated experience working with core business logic within applications.
• Experience in developing APIs and Frameworks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent discipline.
• Candidates must not require sponsorship.

Bonus Points If You Have

• Experience with concurrency & multi-threading.
• Experience with scaling, Java Garbage Collection, and performance tuning.
• Working knowledge of finance and/or trading domain.
