Job summary

Intact Insurance Specialty Solutions in Canton, MA is offering an IT Intern position on our Corporate IT team. The internship runs about 8-10 weeks with a starting date in early June 2027 and will involve being part of an Agile Scrum team and experiencing the full SDLC across BI, web apps, services and scripting.

You will work with a motivated team, diagnose problems, develop and test solutions, and learn as much as you can while contributing to real projects.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Some CS coursework or self-taught experience relevant to IT internship.

Responsibilities

• As a Scrum team member you will design, develop, test, and implement BI reports, ETL, cubes, web apps, and web services.
• Diagnose and fix problems as they arise.
• Communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences across the company.
• Learn as much as you can and contribute to the IT team.

The opportunity

We currently have an opportunity for an IT Intern to join our Corporate IT team based in our Canton, MA office. The projected start date is early June 2027, and the internship will last approximately 8-10 weeks. We are seeking motivated and technically savvy students who are eager to learn, innovate, and contribute to a successful IT team. In this role you will have the opportunity to be a member of an Agile Scrum team and experience the full systems development life cycle on a variety of applications.

Responsibilities:

• As a Scrum team member you will partner with a motivated team of professionals to design, develop, test, and implement a variety of solutions that may include Business Intelligence (reports, ETL, cubes), web applications, web services, and scripting.
• Diagnose and fix problems as they arise.
• Communicate appropriately to a variety of audiences, both technical and non-technical, across the company.
• Learn as much as you can.

Requirements:

• Competency with Microsoft Word and Excel
• Ability to write queries
• Understanding of tables, views, stored procedures, and keys
• Experience with MS SQL Server is preferred

Nice to have experience:

• Object Oriented Programming
• Scripting
• Source Control
• Testing
• Reporting Tools

As a Co-op / Intern, you must be working towards a bachelor's degree and have taken some Computer Science coursework or have relevant self-taught experience.

Compensation:

Salary Range: $21 - $23 per hour
