Our Summer Internship Program:

Our Summer Internship Program (PLOT) offers an opportunity to gain meaningful experience in Information Technology while building the foundation for a successful career. During this 12-week program, you'll learn from experienced technology professionals, tackle real-world projects, and develop working knowledge of IT operations, business technology solutions, cybersecurity, infrastructure, data management, and digital innovation within a leading agribusiness organization. You'll have the opportunity to present your internship learnings directly to leadership. This is more than just an internship. It's your chance to make a real impact, build professional knowledge, and sharpen your abilities in a dynamic, results-driven environment. Successful completion of the PLOT program can also earn you a scholarship between $1,000 and $3,000.

Role Overview:

As a Wilbur-Ellis IT Intern, you'll gain experience across a variety of technology functions, including business applications, infrastructure, cybersecurity, data analytics, technical support, and digital transformation initiatives. You'll work alongside technology professionals to support projects that help improve business processes, enhance user experiences, and enable organizational success.

Responsibilities may include assisting with technology implementations, supporting business systems and applications, analyzing data and system performance, conducting technology research, participating in process improvement initiatives, supporting end users, documenting procedures, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve business challenges through technology.

You’ll have the opportunity to share your ideas, contribute innovative solutions, and gain firsthand exposure to how technology supports and drives business performance. At the conclusion of your internship, you’ll prepare and present a final PowerPoint presentation highlighting your project work, key learnings, and overall experience.

What You Bring to the Role:

As an intern, we understand you may not already have extensive professional experience. We are seeking a college student pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, Software Engineering, Business Technology, Information Systems, or a related field with an interest in technology and business innovation.

Overall, we are looking for someone with strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills; attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy; the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively; intellectual curiosity and a willingness to learn; a self-starter who is eager to contribute ideas and collaborate with others; and someone who brings their full self to work each day. We want to help you grow, and we want to learn from you, too.

Examples of What You May Gain:

  • Exposure to enterprise technology and digital transformation initiatives within a leading agribusiness organization
  • Experience supporting business systems, infrastructure, cybersecurity, data, and technology-related projects
  • Opportunities to collaborate with technology professionals, business leaders, and employees across the organization
  • Development of technical, analytical, project management, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Hands-on experience identifying technology solutions that improve business processes and user experiences
  • Exposure to enterprise applications, data analytics, cybersecurity practices, and IT best practices
  • Mentorship from experienced Information Technology professionals and business leaders
  • A deeper understanding of how technology enables business operations, drives innovation, and supports organizational growth
  • Real-world experience contributing to projects that improve efficiency, security, collaboration, and business performance across the organization

Compensation and Benefits:

  • In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $17.00 to $24.00 per hour. Note that wages may vary based on location, skills, and experience.

Our Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion:

Diversity of people, cultures, opinions, and ideas makes us all stronger. From leadership commitment to employee buy-in, we know that creating an inclusive environment and providing opportunities for all employees to reach their full potential is a shared responsibility.
