Job summary

The Pennsylvania State University seeks a Director of IT Governance to lead the design, development, and continuous improvement of Penn State's enterprise-wide IT governance framework. This role reports to the Deputy CIO and drives decision rights, policies, and governance forums to accelerate strategic outcomes and manage risk.

The successful candidate will apply frameworks (COBIT, ITIL, TOGAF, NIST CSF) and lead cross-functional governance across colleges, campuses, and administrative units

Qualifications

• Requires degree in IT, IS, business or related field.
• Progressive IT leadership with governance and policy experience.
• Experience designing IT governance in large, multi-stakeholder environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and mature enterprise IT governance framework across Penn State.
• Direct policy, standards, and compliance with FERPA, HIPAA, GLBA, GDPR and more.
• Embed governance into IT portfolio management, stage-gate reviews and benefits realization.
• Lead governance councils and cross-functional collaboration across units.
• Establish governance metrics, risk registers, and dashboards for leadership.
• Provide leadership and development to governance staff and teams.
