Job summary

Energy Transfer in Houston is seeking a Principal IT Specialist to support the ION Right-angle application and related system customizations. You will interact with end-users, developers, and managers to resolve issues and deploy enhancements.

The role requires strong customer service, excellent communication, and 10+ years of application support experience in a relevant industry, with solid SQL and database skills and familiarity with SDLC processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT/IS or related field.
• 10+ years of application support experience.
• Strong SQL and relational database knowledge.
• Experience with ION RightAngle or similar systems.
• Familiarity with SDLC processes (Agile, Waterfall).
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Experience with ticketing systems like Remedy or ServiceNow.

Responsibilities

• Interact daily with end-users, developers, and managers to support and enhance Right-angle
• Document issues and enhancements with the appropriate level of detail for the development team to resolve technical issues and build solutions
• Field questions from end-users and assist with data issues
• Create and maintain system functional design documents
• Complete analysis, testing, and deployment for right-angle system upgrades, patches, and custom code releases
• Follow defined change management procedures and internal guidelines
• Availability to support after hours on business-critical situations and scheduled tasks
• Contribute to best practice library and mentor other team members
• Must be able to work on multiple simultaneous tasks with limited supervision
• Ensure requirements are being met in accordance with corporate compliance
• Ensure proper communication to all levels of the organization
