The role you’ll contribute:

The Technology Architect ensures the integrity, security, availability, effectiveness, and efficiency of the entire technology infrastructure. This includes IT infrastructure, middleware, networks, communications, processing, and standards. Provides technical guidance and oversight, acts as a point of escalation, and serves as a technical expert. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

• Provides team guidance and oversight. As needed, reviews and analyzes design and technical specifications of the IT infrastructure, participating and contributing in all projects. As needed, assists Engineers in the identification, analysis, and resolution of technology infrastructure problems. Recommends improvements to processes and technology that improve the effectiveness of the team. Acts as a focal point for technology infrastructure architecture issues, which require management intervention.
• Recommends and/or develops frameworks and standards. Develops, documents, communicates, and enforces a policy for standardizing hardware and other infrastructure as necessary. Works with co-workers and collaborates with other teams and other Architects to develop security and infrastructure standards. Recommends, develops, and maintains reliable productivity tools. Ensures technology infrastructure architecture features are comprised of reusable objects and are easily extensible.
• Monitors technology infrastructure architectures to identify and resolve information system problems. Proactively identifies/resolves technology infrastructure problems and works with appropriate team to implement solutions. Ensures balance of system properties as well as internal design properties. When cost and price reduction is required, ensures performance and reliability impact is discussed and way forward agreed. Ensures consistency across many organizational and design boundaries; from need to implementation details and from system level to detailed implementation. Maintains an overview of systems used throughout the organization, providing an overview of the entire systems and its contexts, as needed.
• Actively monitors and improves overall systems security. Works closely with DSO to meet corporate policies.
• Determines what automation can reasonably be accomplished, presenting options for review. Performs feasibility studies and due diligence on new projects. Prepares written technical specifications and designs diagrams that include time and cost estimates.
• Works closely with AHS to design enterprise-wide solutions.
• Develops and executes test plans to check infrastructure and systems technical performance. Reports on findings and makes recommendations for improvement.
• Interacts and communicates with all levels of the organization in a troubleshooting and problem-solving capacity.
• Keeps current on industry trends.

• Knowledge of industry standard best practices
• Knowledge of and ability to utilize understanding of technology infrastructure to extrapolate the impact of changes in the systems architecture
• Knowledge of architecture frameworks and tools
• Troubleshooting skills and the ability to determine issue impact, resolve complex issues, and consistently exercise sound judgment and initiative in stressful situations
• Working knowledge of major components of .NET, Java, XML, C++, Linux, AIX, Windows, and relational databases (i.e. DB2, Oracle, or SQL)
