Job summary

Siemens Digital Industries Software is seeking an Enterprise Architect to holistically guide transformation initiatives, align business and IT, and shape the future architecture of the organization.

You will partner with business leaders, product teams, and delivery groups to develop and implement value-driven roadmaps, balancing risk, cost, and performance across platforms. The role emphasizes leadership, governance, and strategic thinking in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Master’s or bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, system analysis, or related field, or equivalent
• Eight+ years in strategic/operational planning or enterprise architecture consulting
• Experience in at least three architecture disciplines in multi‑tier environment
• Enterprise Architecture Framework experience with a certification (TOGAF, Zachman, FEA, or Gartner)

General Summary

The Enterprise Architect proactively and holistically helps and guides enterprise leaders, business partners, product managers, product owners, and distributed product delivery teams through transformation and optimization initiatives. The role supports the formulation of business strategy, outcomes, and capabilities, and helps the organization achieve targeted business outcomes such as growing revenue, optimizing costs, mitigating risks, and improving sustainability. The focus is on developing the business and IT strategy and the organization’s enterprise architecture.

The Enterprise Architect Must

• Facilitate alignment between business and IT, and across the democratized IT landscape
• Engage business and IT stakeholders, building and maintaining relationships
• Adapt to changing business and operating models
• Analyze trends and disruptions, and assess their impact on targeted business outcomes
• Tell stories to visualize the future state and trigger long‑term planning
• Set technology environment standards and guidelines
• Support various operating models such as project‑centric and product‑centric
• Communicate the value of enterprise architecture and its portfolio of services
• Drive the evolution of the EA team’s services and operating model
• Manage a team of architects, coach and mentor other architects, product owners/ managers, and business partners to instill architectural thinking

Essential Functions

Skills and Abilities Required

• Knowledge of business ecosystems, SaaS, IaaS, PaaS, SOA, APIs, open data, microservices, event‑driven IT, and predictive analytics
• Understanding of business models, operating models, financial models, cost‑benefit analysis, budgeting, and risk management
• Familiarity with enterprise architecture tools, related graphical models, and frameworks
• Insight into information management practices, system development life cycle management, IT services management, agile and lean methodologies, infrastructure and operations, and EA and ITIL frameworks
• Understanding of various operating models, such as project‑centric and product‑centric, and different types of agile principles, methodologies, and frameworks, especially those designed to be scaled at the enterprise level
• Awareness of existing, new, and emerging technologies and processing environments
• Effective leadership skills with outstanding soft and interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation
• Strong consulting skills such as targeted communications, engagement management, stakeholder management, and business development
• Mastery of all components of enterprise architecture, business and IT principles and processes

Education and Experience Requirements

• Master’s or bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, system analysis, or a related field of study, or equivalent experience
• Eight or more years of business experience in strategic and operations planning and/or business analysis, or experience as an enterprise architecture consultant
• Eight or more years of experience in at least three disciplines, such as business, information, solution or technical architecture, application development, middleware, information analysis, database management, or operations in a multi‑tier environment
• Enterprise Architecture Framework experience is required. Certification in at least one of the following is required: TOGAF, Zachman, FEA, or Gartner

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements

Hybrid near Siemens location within the U.S. – Normal office environment. Occasional travel (less than 25%) may be required.
