Job summary

Gunnison Consulting Group in Washington, DC is seeking an experienced delivery leader to manage software development teams and drive Agile projects to successful completion. You will coordinate roadmaps, sprints, and stakeholder communications, balance competing priorities, and mentor engineers while advancing security practices and CI/CD discussions.

This role requires strong communication, risk management, and a track record of delivering complex solutions in a collaborative, fast-paced

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience leading teams of developers and delivering software projects using Agile.
• Experience with Scrum and Kanban, Jira, and GitHub Issues for delivery tracking.
• Roadmap creation, sprint planning, backlog prioritization.
• Strong stakeholder communication with executives and technical teams.
• Proactive risk management and mitigation.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; certified preferred.

Salary: $100,000 - $108,000/year

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Managing team resources, identifying and removing blockers, and ensuring delivery of solutions.


• Have effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate within a team environment, including sharing progress, asking for help when needed, and providing constructive feedback.


• Maintain knowledge and skills on existing and emerging agile best practices, technologies relevant to supported projects, security best practices, etc.

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of experience managing teams of developers, working with stakeholders, and delivering software projects using Agile methodologies.


• Project Management: Agile (Scrum, Kanban), GitHub Issues, Jira


• Delivery Planning: Roadmap creation, sprint planning, backlog prioritization.


• Stakeholder Management: Communication with executives, customers, and tech teams.


• Risk & Issue Management: Identifying bottlenecks and mitigating risks proactively.


• Process Optimization: Continuous improvement using retrospectives, OKRs, and KPIs.


• Technical Awareness: Understanding software development, DevOps, cloud, and CI/CD (not hands-on but enough to communicate effectively with engineers).


• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

At least one of the following certifications required:

• Certified Scrum Master (CSM)


• Project Management Professional (PMP)

Clearance Requirement: Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.

The salary range for this position depends upon multiple factors including location, the individual's knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, and contract-specific budget constraints and organizational requirements. Gunnison Consulting Group's total compensation package also includes bonus and profit-sharing opportunities, depending on company and employee performance. Available employee benefits include:
