Job summary

Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is seeking a student-intern in the IT department's Enterprise Data & AI Team in Brea, CA. You will help build an enterprise data catalog, profile datasets, and label data to support AI models and human analysts.

You will work on ML/AI features, testing model accuracy across multiple business areas, and design prompt strategies for AI agents, including Claude Cowork. This role emphasizes hands-on data science tools and cloud data platforms.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Math, CS or related quantitative fields.
• Experience with two or more data science tools (SQL, SAS, R, Python, SPSS, data mining).
• Experience with relational databases and SQL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the build-out of an enterprise data catalog, profiling datasets and labeling data for usability by people and AI models.
• Engineer and test features that improve the accuracy of ML/AI models across Finance, Service and Supply Chain.
• Design and test prompts for AI agents (e.g., Claude Cowork) and evaluate response quality.
