Job description

IT Compute Storage Engineer supports the day-to-day operation, maintenance, security, availability, and lifecycle management of the organization's server, virtualization, storage, backup, recovery, and related infrastructure platforms. The position responds to incidents, service requests, monitoring alerts, operational tasks, and approved changes while following established security, change-management, and support procedures.

The Engineer installs, configures, patches, monitors, troubleshoots, documents, and maintains physical and virtual servers, operating systems, storage platforms, data-protection systems, infrastructure appliances, and related services. The position also supports server provisioning and decommissioning, capacity and performance monitoring, backup and recovery activities, disaster recovery exercises, certificate and access-related tasks, and vendor-supported maintenance.

The role is primarily focused on reliable day-to-day operations but also participates in infrastructure upgrades, lifecycle initiatives, migrations, automation efforts, and other projects. The role is expected to identify recurring operational issues, improve documentation, recommend practical process improvements, and gradually assume greater ownership as knowledge and experience increase.

*The candidate must be within one hour to the Cincinnati area. This role can be hybrid or remote but will need to be open to on-call issues throughout the week and weekend.*
