Job summary

SMP/Eastlake is seeking a co-op student in Wickliffe, OH, to work on assignments related to computer science or engineering education. The role provides progressively responsible tasks and hands-on experience in IT support.

You will apply classroom knowledge to real-world problems, identify and fix computer and network issues, and participate in daily department meetings and team projects. Housing or travel stipends may be available.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of computer hardware.
• Basic knowledge of computer networking.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of SQL, stored procedures, VB 6.0, C#, or VB.Net is a plus.

SUMMARY

The co-op student will be working on job assignments related to their computer science or engineering education. These increasingly challenging assignments will provide an effective learning assignment for the student.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• The student will apply principles that he or she has learned in school to hands-on situations.
• The student will be responsible for accomplishing performance goals and will receive progressive responsibility throughout his/her co-op experience.
• Will identify and fix computer and network problems.
• Will attend and participate in daily departmental meeting.
• Will take ownership and responsibility for identified projects.
• Participate in project teams for some assigned projects.
• Work within specifications provided to meet project goals and objectives in a timely and accurate manner.
• Participate with peers, project team members, and other departments on new product development, product line extensions, and product enhancements.
• Will work on computers, printers, and the network; troubleshooting hardware issues and configuring computers.
• Will work on troubleshooting Windows 10 and Office; also printer repair and troubleshooting

QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge of computer hardware
