The Technical Writer for the IT Certification Program is responsible for developing curricula, course outlines, instructional methods, training aids, manuals, and other instructional materials that integrate DIR data and prerequisite skills tied to CTCM & CTCD certifications.
The role includes analyzing training content for accessibility, recommending changes to enhance accessibility, and remediating accessibility issues.
Working under limited supervision, the Technical Writer utilizes independent judgment to plan and accomplish goals, performing a variety of complex tasks with a wide latitude in utilizing current IT Procurement information.
The position consults with staff to gather accurate information and translate technical content—including descriptions of concepts, processes, and systems—into clear, user‑friendly language.

This position is Hybrid, On‑site and Telework – Austin, TX 78701. Program will only allow candidates who are local to the Austin area (within 50‑mile radius).
Normal business hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, excluding state holidays when the agency is closed. The worker may be required to work outside normal business hours on weekends, evenings, and holidays as requested.
