Actalent in San Diego seeks an IT Business Systems Analyst to bridge business and IT for MRO, service, asset management, and ERP-driven processes across the maintenance lifecycle. You will analyze requests, map as‑is and to‑be processes, and craft functional specs for delivery.

The role requires deep domain knowledge in MRO and ERP (SAP, Ramco, ServiceNow), strong testing oversight, and the ability to manage small projects in a hybrid, campus-based setting with ~10% travel.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in IT or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Approximately 15+ years of progressive experience in business systems analysis.
• At least 10 years IT BA experience in engineering, manufacturing, and distribution environments.

Responsibilities

• Understand the full landscape of applications that support assigned business functions and departments, and how they interact across the maintenance lifecycle.
• Analyze business requests across the four pillars of business analysis, evaluating their validity, alignment with existing processes and systems, business criticality, estimated ROI, and best‑practice options.
• Author clear and accurate as‑is business process diagrams, such as swimlane flows, to interpret requirements.
• Apply understanding of end‑to‑end MRO and maintenance processes across lifecycle stages.
• Develop solution proposal documents in multiple formats and consider cost, feasibility, and compliance.
• Create detailed functional specification documents for development teams.
• Perform unit testing and functional acceptance testing to verify alignment with requirements.
• Coordinate and facilitate user acceptance testing of changes before deployment.
• Understand SDLC processes and work within change workflows (e.g., ServiceNow).
• Apply IT project management frameworks (waterfall, agile) and manage small to mid‑size projects.
• Learn and apply system configuration concepts across SAP, Ramco, ServiceNow, and SaaS.
• Differentiate between valid/invalid requirements and refine them into actionable solutions.
• Perform technical administration of applications for front‑ and back‑end functions.
• Stay current on IT trends and recommend balanced solutions.
• Observe laws and safety practices in all activities.
• Travel ~10% within San Diego area.
