About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on IT Manager to lead and support technology initiatives within a manufacturing environment. This position is ideal for an IT professional who enjoys working across software development, databases, web applications, manufacturing systems, and automation technology.

The IT Manager will be responsible for maintaining and improving existing systems while also developing new applications and solutions that support day-to-day manufacturing and business operations. This is a highly technical role that will work closely with operations, engineering, maintenance, and other internal teams.

What You’ll Do

• Manage, maintain, and improve IT applications and systems supporting manufacturing operations.
• Develop and maintain custom applications, databases, web-based tools, and reporting solutions.
• Support legacy manufacturing systems, including HP3000/MPE/iX environments.
• Develop and maintain applications using SQL, Microsoft Access/VBA, PHP, JavaScript, HTML, ASP, and related technologies.
• Create and manage databases using HP3000 and Microsoft SQL Server, including database security and administration.
• Develop and maintain web applications and internal websites using IIS.
• Support applications used for inventory tracking, order status, production tracking, labeling, and other manufacturing processes.
• Develop and maintain automated testing systems involving both software and hardware.
• Work with industrial communication protocols including RS-485, Modbus, and TCP/IP.
• Support and interface with industrial controls and data acquisition equipment, including Schneider M172 controllers and Opto 22 SNAP-PAC systems.
• Assist with systems involving electrical hardware and automated testing equipment, including applications involving low- and high-voltage systems up to 575 VAC.
• Provide SolidWorks PDM administration and support.
• Troubleshoot existing applications, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop practical solutions to business and manufacturing challenges.
• Partner with engineering, maintenance, operations, and leadership to identify technology needs and implement solutions.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Experience supporting IT systems within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong programming, scripting, and application development experience.
• Strong SQL/database knowledge, including database management and security.
• Experience working with web-based applications and IIS.
• Ability to troubleshoot both software and hardware-related issues.
• Understanding of industrial communication protocols and manufacturing automation is highly preferred.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple projects, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.
• A hands‑on mindset with the ability to jump into existing systems, troubleshoot problems, and develop practical solutions.
