Job summary

Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP seeks a Temporary IT Applications Database Intern in Wheeling, WV. The role is hybrid with regular onsite work and is designed to provide hands-on training in software support, package creation with SCCM, and SQL Server maintenance.

The intern will collaborate with teams, assist in troubleshooting, and contribute to real IT projects within the Global Operations & Innovation Center.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist technical support of software applications.
• Test, document, troubleshoot applications, and image desktops.
• Support desktop imaging for Windows and Macs, focusing on Macs.
• Create software packages using SCCM/Endpoint Manager.
• Maintain SQL Server databases; run basic queries and review data.
• Communicate and collaborate with clients and teams firm-wide.
• Coordinate special applications projects and initiatives.

Orrick currently has an excellent opportunity for a Temporary IT Applications Database Intern in our Global Operations & Innovation Center in Wheeling, WV.

Please Note: This is a hybrid role requiring regular onsite work in Wheeling, WV. Candidates must be within commutable distance or willing to relocate at their own expense. Remote-only arrangements are not available for this position.

Responsibilities

Our internship will provide you with training and resources, challenging opportunities and real technical projects to grow your professional and technical talent:

• Assist the technical support of software applications
• Testing, documenting and trouble-shooting applications, and imaging desktops
• Support in modifying and trouble-shooting the desktop imaging process for Windows and Mac machines with a focus on Macs.
• Assisting in the creation of software packages using tools such as Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager/Endpoint Configuration Manager
• Support in maintaining SQL Server databases by running basic queries, reviewing data for accuracy, and assisting with routine database-related tasks
• Communicating and collaborating with customers and teams across the firm
• Coordinating special applications projects and initiatives

Qualifications

• Proficient with desktop operating systems including current Microsoft Windows and Mac operating systems and Microsoft Office
• Understanding of networking concepts, database concepts (SQL Server) and basic scripting and/or programming
• Cloud based (SaaS) understanding and support
• Use of AI Tools and prompt writing
• Low code/no code solutions like Microsoft Power Automate/Power Apps
• Good writing and analytical skills
• Ability to adapt to a changing environment and multitask priorities

Compensation And Benefits

The expected salary range for this position is between $18.00 hour and $20.00 hour.

• This is a short-term, temporary position.
• Our temporary team members are eligible for paid sick leave where required by location.
