Job description

OVERVIEW

Alera Group is looking for an IT Application Services Manager. We are seeking highly motivated colleagues who bring experience and enthusiasm to our team – joining us may be the perfect fit for you!

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of application support specialists, analysts, and developers, including participating in hiring and training to build a skilled and effective team.
  2. Oversee the full lifecycle of applications, including identifying and resolving user issues, designing solutions, managing upgrades, patches, feature releases, and decommissioning outdated systems while ensuring clear communication with stakeholders.
  3. Lead the support of business-critical applications, manage incident resolution and service restoration, and develop and implement escalation procedures to address complex application-related issues effectively.
  4. Maintain strong relationships with software vendors to ensure applications meet service levels and performance standards, while negotiating with stakeholders on application requirements, feature enhancements, and objectives.
  5. Assess new applications and services to enhance business processes, provide recommendations to leadership, and ensure alignment with organizational goals and priorities.
  6. Create, review, and analyze reports on application issues and resolutions to identify trends, implement preventative measures, and improve overall system performance.
  7. Provide input on hardware and software purchasing decisions, train staff on issue resolution plans, and support a flexible schedule, including on-call availability, to address critical needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. 5+ years of relevant experience, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  2. Experience with insurance agency management applications (Epic, ImageRight, Sagitta, Insurlink, Indio, Benefit Point, Zywave, Vertafore, Tam).
  3. ITIL Foundations certification, strongly preferred.
  4. Demonstrated ability to lead other team members, especially in queue management and projects.
  5. Demonstrated analytical skills using tools such as SQL, PowerBI, Excel, Access, etc.
  6. Ability to travel domestically up to 20%.

Salary range is $110K to $130K, based on experience.
