The Rector & Visitors of the University of Virginia invites a Senior IT Analyst to join UVA Health's Lab IT team, supporting EMR, laboratory analyzers, middleware, and Epic integrations to ensure reliable operations and accurate diagnostics.

You will build and sustain laboratory interfaces, troubleshoot connectivity, and collaborate with clinicians, vendors, and laboratory leadership on major modernization projects, in a hybrid work environment in Charlottesville.

Qualifications

Help power the technology behind exceptional patient care. As a senior member of UVA Health's Lab IT team, you will support the critical laboratory systems, analyzers, middleware platforms, and clinical integrations that enable accurate, timely diagnostic services across a leading academic health system.

The Role

As a Senior IT Analyst supporting EMR and Laboratory IT, you will serve as a key contributor supporting the technologies that connect laboratory analyzers, middleware applications, Point-of-Care systems, Blood Bank platforms, and Epic integrations across UVA Health. This role is ideal for a healthcare IT professional who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, supporting critical operations, and participating in large-scale technology implementations.

In a typical day, you may:

• Support laboratory analyzers, automation platforms, and middleware environments.
• Build, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory interfaces and system integrations.
• Investigate analyzer connectivity, workflow, and data transmission issues.
• Provide support for Point-of-Care technologies throughout the health system.
• Assist with Blood Bank application support and related laboratory technologies.
• Support laboratory desktops, printers, scanners, and associated equipment.
• Participate in system upgrades, testing activities, implementations, and go-live support.
• Develop and support workflows, configurations, and rules within Data Innovations and related middleware technologies.
• Collaborate closely with laboratory leaders, clinicians, vendors, and operational teams to ensure reliable system performance.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Bachelor's Degree, or an equivalent combination of accreditation, education and experience required.

Experience: 5+ years relevant professional experience required.

Licensure: None.

Preferred: Knowledge or experience with digital pathology systems, scanners, image-management platforms, workflows, interfaces, or supporting infrastructure.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.

The pay range for this role is $39.77 - $79.54 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
