Job summary

Loft Orbital in Golden, CO seeks an experienced IT Administrator to be the on-site anchor for our IT team. You’ll handle end-user support, provisioning, and on-site AV, while helping scale our global IT service desk within six months.

You’ll split time across operational support, onboarding, documentation, and facilities care, with focus on translating complex tech into plain language for a customer‑centric culture.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on IT support experience.
• On-site support with a customer-service mindset.
• Experience with SaaS administration and SSO (Okta, Google Workspace, O365).
• Familiarity with Mac/Windows/Linux laptops via MDM tooling.
• Ability to translate technical issues into plain language.

Responsibilities

Loft Orbital’s mission is to make space simple for organizations, and Loft IT’s mission is to make work simple for employees. Our Golden office is growing, and we’re looking for an IT Administrator to join our international IT team. You’ll be the go-to person on the ground for our two Colorado sites, while contributing to IT activities across all of our offices worldwide.

You’ll focus most of your time on end-user support in office, with a path to owning our global IT service desk within your first six months. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about technology, has a customer-centric personality, and can translate technical problems into plain English. This is not an entry‑level position, and there’s plenty of room for mentorship to help you grow your technical chops!

Your time will be split across four main areas: Operational Support, Onboarding & Application Administration, Documentation, and AV support.

Operational Support (50%)

• Serve as the first point of contact for Colorado-based support issues; assist colleagues with computer questions, hardware upgrades, application permissions, printers, etc.


• Pick up, support, and close support tickets in our IT service desk, escalating out of scope tickets when needed


• Support clean room and lab operations (network setup, environmental controls, specialized hardware)


• Help colleagues with the procurement of new software tools and IT equipment


• Support the IT team during investigatory and regulatory audits

Onboarding & Application Administration (25%)

Keep Loft running smoothly.

• Work with our People Team to run employee onboarding across all offices, and be the on-site IT contact for all Golden new hires


• Provision Mac, Windows, and Linux laptops for new employees via our MDM tooling (Fleet)


• Create and manage permissions for end‑user SaaS accounts (Okta, Google Workspace, O365, Slack, Atlassian, etc.)

Documentation (15%)

At Loft, documentation is as important as completing the task.

• Document new and existing projects / systems


• With direction from IT leadership, maintain and update IT’s internal doc repos (how-tos, IT policy, etc.)

Facilities Care (10%)

Join the team in charge of taking care of our Colorado offices.

• Provide assistance and perform break/fix work for AV conference rooms


• Assist in network upgrades / expansion efforts


• 3+ years of hands on IT support experience following industry best practices


• Strong end‑user support skills and a customer-service mindset, with the ability to translate technical issues into plain language


• Attention to detail and experience running onboarding procedures


• Experience with internal corporate networking (DNS, VPN, VLANs)


• Experience administering SaaS environments and SSO technologies (Okta, Google Workspace, O365)


• Based in (or able to relocate to) the Golden, CO area; this is an on site role


• Experience with Okta administration


• Knowledge of Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence), especially Jira administration


• Experience automating repetitive tasks with AI tools


• Experience using or supporting Linux as a desktop operating system


• Working knowledge of industry security practices

Loft Orbital builds "shareable" satellites, providing a fast & simple path to orbit for organizations that require access to space. Powered by our hardware & software products, we operate satellites, fly customer payloads onboard, and handle entire missions from end to end - significantly reducing the lead-time and risk of a traditional space mission.
