Navstar Inc. is seeking an Information System Security Officer to maintain compliance and strengthen the security posture of mission systems and SSPs via the RMF.

The role emphasizes operational security, continuous monitoring, audits, and preparing for reaccreditation, with a path to IAM responsibilities within a Defense-in-Depth framework for national security programs.

Qualifications

• TS/SCI with Polygraph required.
• Experience as ISSO with Defense-in-Depth, network and enterprise security architecture.
• Experience applying RMF and NIST 800-53 procedures.
• Education per above qualifications; multiple paths accepted.
• IAM Tier 1 certification required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain appropriate operational security posture for information systems.
• Support continuous monitoring of networks to detect and correct non-compliance, vulnerabilities, and risks.
• Follow security processes and contribute to the information systems continuous monitoring program.
• Perform regular audits of information systems.
• Assist the information systems security manager in preparing for periodic reaccreditation.

Role Description:

Seeking a self-starting, motivated individual to be the Information System Security Officer maintaining compliance and strengthening the security posture of critical mission systems and their System Security Plans (SSPs) via the Risk Management Framework.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the appropriate operational security posture is maintained for information systems.
• Support continuous monitoring of networks to detect and correct areas of security non-compliance, unmitigated vulnerabilities, and other risks.
• Follow consistent security processes and play a role in the information systems continuous monitoring program.
• Perform regular audits of information systems.
• Assist the information systems security manager in preparing the information system for periodic reaccreditation.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• TS/SCI with Polygraph Required
• Experience as an ISSO with emphasis on Defense-in-Depth principles, network, and enterprise security architecture.
• Experience applying the principles of the NIST 800-53 including the procedures in the Risk Management Framework (RMF).
• Bachelor's degree plus 8-years of relevant experience or master's degree plus 6-years of relevant experience. An associate's degree or 18 semesters hours of military coursework/training in a computer-related field plus 10-years of relevant experience or high school diploma/GED plus 12-years of relevant experience may be considered.
• Information Assurance Manager (IAM) Tier 1 certification.

Pay Rate:

In compliance with Maryland's Equal Pay for Equal Work law, the annual base salary range for this position is $150,000 - $190,000. This range represents the base pay for this role and is provided in accordance with Maryland's requirements to disclose compensation in job postings. Please note that actual compensation may vary based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's qualifications, experience, education, skills, internal equity, and market conditions. In addition to base salary, candidates hired into this position may be eligible for a hiring bonus of $10,000.00, subject to applicable contingencies and Navstar policy.
