Position Summary

Certified and trained forklift operator. Operates 20’ ISO tanks/containers.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Operates all types of forklifts to move intermodal equipment and other items as needed.
• Documents the condition of arriving and departing intermodal equipment using interchange updates and equipment tracking system or grid to ensure the equipment’s location is documented in depot software.
• Ensures forklifts are in proper working order and documents inspections, reporting discrepancies.
• Maintains daily inspection log(s) for lifts and properly reports exceptions; ensures equipment receives periodic maintenance.
• Relies on instructions and pre‑established guidelines (ITCO ACC) to perform job functions.
• Fills and delivers material vouchers to production crews.
• Has basic knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic components.
• Performs facility and grounds maintenance.
• Understands and uses computerized maintenance systems.
• Communicates effectively with others, especially with dispatchers and drivers to ensure production and customer needs are met.
• Always follows safety procedures and promotes a safe environment.
• Complies with established ISO standards when required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Possess and maintain current certification in the operation of required forklift and related equipment.
• Adequate computer skills.
• Ability to learn quickly and attention to detail.
• Good communication skills.
• Preferred experience in driving and operating a container lift.

• Able to work outside in variable weather conditions.
• Ability to follow spoken and written instruction.
• Ability to safely perform all tasks and understand company’s safety policies and procedures.
• Dependable transportation required.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule if required (scheduled or unscheduled overtime, weekends, nights, and holidays).
• Employment is contingent upon ability to pass required Safety Council training examinations and all pre‑employment screenings, i.e., drug screen.
• Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently.

Physical Demands

• Requires manual dexterity and ability to maintain physical activity throughout the day.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and hold or lift a variety of objects.
• Able to carry, bend, stoop, turn, kneel, crawl, climb a ladder and perform other manual labor activities.
• Must operate in a constant state of alertness and safety.

Work Environment

This position is likely to involve duties conducted in and around the grounds of a warehousing and shipping environment. It involves the operation of a forklift and other material movement equipment.
