Job summary

Huntington Bancshares, Inc. seeks a seasoned Java developer to build API-enabled applications and event-driven services for our analytics activation efforts. You will work with cloud-native practices, SQL, and modern data approaches to deliver high-performance software used across channels.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years of Java development, experience with Oracle/Snowflake, and a background in production support, DevSecOps, and agile teams. Flexible work arrangements may apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 7+ years of development experience using Java, building API enabled apps and event driven architecture.
• Ability to write SQL queries and stored procedures; experience with Oracle and Snowflake.
• 2+ years of production support, infrastructure engineering or administration experience.
• Experience with DevSecOps; Kubernetes or other container technologies and deployment pipelines.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and experiment.
• Cloud-related certifications (architect/engineer/developer) preferred.
• Experience on product teams and familiarity with agile practices.

Basic Qualifications

Duties And Responsibilities

• Analyzes, designs, and develops systems based upon user specifications.
• Provides technical assistance in solving hardware or software problems.
• Possesses an in-depth knowledge of and works with the technical tools available for systems development and support.
• Maintains and demonstrates knowledge of technical industry trends, particularly as they apply to Huntington.
• May assist with identifying training needs or with training of less experienced staff.
• May serve as project leader for specific projects.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with marketing applications or integration background.
• Previous Architecture or tech lead experience.
• Deep knowledge of micro services patterns, Spring framework including spring boot, batch.
• Ability to balance both development and support roles.
• Strong analytical, strong troubleshooting skills and excellent communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills, focus on customer service, and the ability to work well with other IT, vendor, and business groups.
• Certifications like cloud architect/engineer/developer are strongly preferred.

Compensation Range

70,000.00 - 140,000.00 USD Annual

The compensation range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base compensation range for this position. Actual compensation will vary based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and education. Colleagues in this position are also eligible to participate in an applicable incentive compensation plan. In addition, Huntington provides a variety of benefits to colleagues, including health insurance coverage, wellness program, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plan, paid leave programs, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
