Job summary

Ochsner Health seeks a skilled BI Analyst to oversee the full BI lifecycle—from requirements gathering to dashboard development and deployment. You will collaborate with clinical and operational teams to translate data needs into actionable insights using SQL, Tableau, and Oracle BI tools.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS, business, or related field.
  • 1 year of SQL, data analysis, relational DB, reporting dashboards, BI systems.
  • 1 year as a business analyst collaborating with end users to define metrics.
  • Preferred: Oracle, SQL, data analysis, Tableau, Oracle BI EE and/or Crystal Reports.
  • 1 year of healthcare experience.

This job oversees all stages of the business intelligence cycle including understanding business objective, collecting business requirements and translating them into data requirements, designing and developing reports or dashboards (code and visualization), scheduling and deployment of business intelligence components in accordance with supplied standards and best practices, and completing accurate and timely documentation. Collaborates with business and technology departments to understand system data and its use, data analysis and validation, and providing support around the data and how it is integrated. Monitors production systems for issues and resolves issues or elevate them for resolution when necessary.

Healthcare/Epic/Slicer Dicer experience a plus

Education

Required - Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems (MIS), business, or related field.

Work Experience

Required - 1 year of experience with SQL programming language, data analysis and profiling, relational database systems, reporting, dashboards and business intelligence systems. 1 year of experience as business analyst, collaborating with end users to define metrics and business requirements.

Preferred - 1 year of experience with Oracle, SQL programming language, and data analysis and profiling.

1 year of experience with data visualization using Tableau, Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise edition and/or Crystal Reports.

1 year of healthcare experience.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
  • SQL and data analysis skills.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process.

Job Duties
  • Participates in and leads classroom instruction for at least 6 unique courses offered in the Revenue Cycle Course Catalog.
  • Identifies and provides recommendations to leadership for identified student learning opportunities.
  • Develops curriculum for new and existing courses and provides organizational direction for online-files on training drive.
  • Delivering training or curriculum development, including experience using various audio/visual equipment for presentations and training sessions.
  • Develops logical modeling and presentation solutions to implement requirements using best practices within the business intelligence environments.
  • Works with business stakeholders to understand their business objectives and develop analytical solutions to improve business operations.
  • Maintains and develops documentation to identify and define processes or procedures.
  • Manages data by following best practices.
  • Supports and monitors business intelligence systems and processes.
  • Administers business intelligence server(s) and/or processes.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
