Fisher Phillips in Irvine seeks a mid-senior level Wage & Hour Associate with five or more years of experience to join our wage and hour litigation team. Based in Orange County, the Irvine office defends employers in complex wage-and-hour class, collective, and representative actions across California.

Ideal candidates will bring substantial experience litigating under the California Labor Code, PAGA, and the FLSA, with the ability to handle matters from inception through resolution, including

Qualifications

• Five or more years of wage-and-hour litigation experience under California Labor Code, PAGA, and FLSA.
• Draft pleadings and dispositive motions; manage written discovery; take and defend depositions; prepare and argue key motions, including class certification.
• Develop strategy in PAGA representative actions and analyze exemption classifications, regular rate calculations, meal/rest period practices, pay statement claims, waiting time penalties.
• Admission to the California Bar and a JD from an ABA-accredited law school are required.
• Strong academic credentials, exceptional writing skills; ability to handle multiple complex matters in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Litigate wage-and-hour class, representative, and PAGA actions in state and federal courts in California.
• Draft pleadings and dispositive motions; supervise discovery and depositions; support key motions.
• Develop trial strategy in PAGA matters; analyze exemptions, regular rate, meal/rest, and wage statements.

Irvine - Mid-Senior Level Wage & Hour Associate

The Fisher Phillips Irvine office is seeking associates with five or more years of experience to join our wage and hour litigation team. Based in the heart of Orange County, our Irvine attorneys defend employers in complex, high-exposure wage and hour class, collective, and representative actions in state and federal courts throughout California.

Ideal candidates will bring substantial experience litigating claims under the California Labor Code, the Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA), and the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), with a proven ability to manage matters from inception through resolution. This includes significant responsibility for drafting pleadings and dispositive motions, managing written discovery, taking and defending depositions, and preparing and arguing key motions, including class certification and decertification.

Candidates should also be comfortable developing strategy in PAGA representative actions and analyzing core wage and hour compliance issues such as exemption classifications, regular rate calculations, meal and rest period practices, pay statement claims, and waiting time penalties.

Successful applicants will demonstrate strong academic credentials, exceptional analytical and writing skills, and the ability to handle multiple complex matters in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Admission to the California Bar and a JD from an ABA-accredited law school are required.

The yearly salary range for this position is $245,000 – $270,000. Actual base pay within this range will be determined by several components, including but not limited to, relevant experience, internal equity, skills, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
