Job summary

Sustainable Sites seeks an experienced Senior Irrigation Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and optimize commercial irrigation systems in the Des Moines metro area. You will work independently, deliver exceptional customer service, and help ensure peak system performance for clients.

This full-time role requires a valid U.S. driver's license, active Backflow Certification, and at least 3 years of irrigation or landscape experience.

Qualifications

• Valid U.S. Driver's License with clean record.
• Minimum of 3 years irrigation or landscape industry experience.
• Active Backflow Certification required.
• Strong knowledge of irrigation controllers, valves, wiring, pumps, and system diagnostics.
• Ability to read irrigation plans and specifications.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding work.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, test, troubleshoot, and repair existing irrigation systems.
• Conduct detailed site inspections and document findings and recommendations.
• Diagnose and repair controllers, valves, wiring, pumps, sprinkler heads, and other components.
• Ensure systems operate efficiently and according to design specifications.
• Communicate site conditions, repair needs, and recommendations to customers and management.
• Accurately track labor, materials, and service activities.
• Assist with audits, seasonal startups, winterizations, and water management programs.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and according to company standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve system performance and customer satisfaction.
• Maintain a professional appearance and represent Sustainable Sites positively.

About the Position

Sustainable Sites seeks an experienced Senior Irrigation Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and optimize commercial irrigation systems. This position is ideal for a skilled irrigation professional who can work independently, provide exceptional customer service, and help ensure the highest level of system performance for our clients.

• Monitor, test, troubleshoot, and repair existing irrigation systems.
