Job summary

Texscape Services in Austin, TX is seeking an Irrigation Technician to assist with repairs and installation of commercial irrigation systems. This entry-level role focuses on learning irrigation systems and supporting experienced technicians.

Applicants should have at least two years of commercial landscape experience, a valid driver license, and, if possible, a BAT license. The job requires communicating clearly, prioritizing tasks, and working autonomously in all weather with physical stamina.

Qualifications

Two years of commercial landscape experience.
Valid driver license; BAT license preferred.

Responsibilities

Abide by safety standards and company code of conduct.
Trench, backfill and excavate soil for irrigation repairs or installations.
Keep irrigation truck and tools organized, stocked and clean.
Ensure job site is safe, clean and organized.
Understand standard irrigation procedures and components.
Replace and adjust spray heads and rotors; operate valves.
Complete irrigation forms for material usage and work requests.
Inspect equipment to ensure it is in good order before/after job.

JOB SUMMARY

Assisting Irrigation Technicians with repairs and installation of commercial irrigation systems. Entry level into the field of irrigation. The main focus will be to learn irrigation systems.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Experience

At least two years’ commercial landscape experience

License or Certification

As required by state and federal law
Valid driver license issued by the state where employed
Backflow Assembly Tester (BAT) License in state where employed preferred

Specialized Skills

Basic understanding of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook

Essential Duties

Always abide by company code of conduct and safety standards
Trench, backfill and excavate soil for irrigation repairs or installations
Maintain organize, stocked and clean irrigation truck and tools
Maintain job site safe, clean, and organized condition
Ability to understand and follow all standard irrigation procedures safely
Ability to understand irrigation components and terminology
Ability to understand replace and adjust both spray heads and rotors properly
Ability to understand, manually operate irrigation valves, replacement and adjustments
Ability to understand complete irrigation forms for material usage and work request
Inspects equipment to ensure good working order and charged prior to arriving at job site or leaving the yard
Other duties as assigned
