Job Summary
As an Irrigation Technician with LandTec Services, you will inspect, diagnose, and repair irrigation systems for commercial and residential properties, and recommend improvements that help clients use water more efficiently. You will work independently and as part of a team, serving as the client's go-to resource for keeping their irrigation systems running properly.
This role requires strong technical knowledge of irrigation systems, attention to detail, and at least two years of hands-on irrigation experience. Success means accurate diagnoses, quality repairs completed right the first time, clear communication with clients, and systems that perform efficiently and in compliance with local regulations.
What You Will Do
- Perform scheduled irrigation system inspections for commercial and residential properties.
- Diagnose and repair irrigation system malfunctions, including valves, controllers, wiring, piping, and sprinkler heads.
- Conduct routine maintenance such as cleaning and adjusting sprinklers, checking zones for optimal performance, and programming controllers.
- Document inspection findings and submit detailed reports outlining required repairs or system enhancements.
- Communicate with clients to explain repairs and recommend ways to improve system efficiency.
- Price out repair jobs and parts, and provide quotes to clients when needed.
- Ensure all work complies with local regulations and industry standards.
- Maintain inventory of irrigation parts and tools needed for repairs.
- Work with Account Managers to support maintenance contracts and ensure client satisfaction.
What You Will Have
- 2+ years of experience in irrigation system installation, maintenance, or repair.
- Strong knowledge of irrigation systems, components, and equipment.
- Familiarity with controllers, wiring, backflow prevention, and water conservation techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and irrigation designs.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and travel daily to client properties.
What Would Make You a Top Candidate
- Texas Irrigation License (Licensed Irrigator or Irrigation Technician).
- Experience with Aspire or similar landscape business management software.
- Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester license.
- Experience with smart or central-control irrigation systems.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills.
Physical and Working Conditions
- Work is performed primarily outdoors at commercial and residential client properties.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, digging, reaching, and working in awkward positions.
- Ability to lift and handle tools, materials, and equipment in accordance with company policy and applicable law, using mechanical assistance or team lifting when appropriate.
- Regular exposure to weather, heat, mud, dust, noise, and uneven terrain.
- Ability to wear required PPE and safely operate a company vehicle.

Additional Information
- This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position. Overtime is paid in accordance with applicable law and company policy.
- The expected pay range is $28.00–$30.00 per hour. Actual compensation will be based on relevant experience, qualifications, certifications, and business needs.
- Day-shift work is standard; occasional early mornings or weekend work may be required based on service needs.
- This position is based in Austin, TX, with daily travel to client properties.
- Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory motor vehicle record (MVR) review, along with any other company-required screening, as applicable.
